I remember when my Gyn gave me the news that I may have cancer due to my biopsy result of Complex Hyperplasia with Atypia. She told that the only way to treat this condition is a total Hysterectomy. She gave me a referral to a Gynecologic Oncologist at Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. I decided to research the doctor. At the right hand side of the screen were doctors from Weill Cornell and then I saw Doctor Eloise Chapman- Davis. I look at her caring eyes and said to myself, that's my doctor. I called the office , and they asked me to fax over my diagnosis. I received a call back the next day and Dr Chapman-Davis agreed to see me. When I went to see her she explained everything to me with great attention to detail! We decided that I would do a D & C and the placement of an Mirena IUD, while the tissue would be sent to lab to screen for cancer. The following week, I had the D & C and the insertion of the IUD. Everything went well and when the lab report came back, I received a call from Doctor Chapman-Davis and she said I did not have Cancer! I was so relieved and overjoyed! I thanked her! Doctor Chapman-Davis is a kind, caring and a knowledgeable Doctor/ Professor. I am so impressed with her that referred a family member to her. I thank God that I decided to call her office! I was referred to Dr Chapman-Davis by another surgeon for a 2nd opinion. I was able to get in to see her in a very timely manner. The woman that called me back into office did a very thorough history and took her time accurately updating my records. Dr Chapman-Davis is a great doctor. She took a lot of time to explain my situation and give me all of my options so that I could make an informed decision. I’m someone that likes to ask many questions and challenge doctors for more info, she more than accommodated my needs. The most important quality in a doctor is that she/he listens to their patients concerns and does not brush them off. In the end, she and I came up with a treatment plan that I can deal with while meeting my medical needs.
