Very beautiful and nicely run European culture center. Had fun attending a Maltese book reading at the center. The place is located in nicely looking building and got an attractive entrance.

The Library is the best and they so helpful. The Cheif Liberian sorted me out with the right books at the right time. Thank you Alicia Martínez.

This review is long overdue. I took classes here before the pandemic and even gave them a second chance by taking a second course, after a distasteful incident. The second course stopped halfway as the pandemic kicked in, but I decided to never go back, because of what had happened before.

Basically, what happened was that the teacher who went to India (maybe 5 times) had decided that she was an authority on everything that was wrong there. She spend 25 minutes of a Spanish class telling everyone why India was such a mess. I have no idea to this day what brought this rant on, but everyone in the class was shifting nervously and looking around. As someone with South Asian ancestry, I found this monologue unnecessary and condescending. A language teacher needs to be trained in how to teach and how to be culturally responsive, in addition to having content knowledge. This teacher displayed none of the former.

I wrote a note to the administration to this effect. Instead of responding to that email, they decided to have this teacher reach out to me directly. I had the 10-minute 'intervention' where she basically told me that she was sorry for the way I felt and that she knew the facts about India. Did I say she only visited a handful of times?

Unprofessional behavior, and what was more telling was that the administration did not write a single email acknowledging this bizarre behavior from the teacher.

Needless to say, I would not recommend this institution unless you are from a developed nation favored by Spain.

This city is full of options - lovely people from Latin American countries who will gladly teach you their language while having a more open mindset. Spend your resources...

Very low quality of education here, it's a waste of time and money. My husband started on level A2.1 all the way to the level B1.2 (6 courses total), and haven't improved his Spanish at all. He constantly expresses how disappointing the teachers are, totally unprofessional and unprepared, not following the textbook material, teaching useless local slang of their own regions, and just improvising the whole 3 hours the classes last. It seems this school just picks up any native speaker from the street that doesn't even have proper formation to teach languages neither care to do their job well, but instead take this school as another side hustle. The schedules options and availability of intensive and regular courses isn't consistent, there's always some holidays and seasons during which they don't offer classes at all like during the entire summer, so your learning process is kind of intermittent; also the teachers will be different every time (from bad to worse). It's a shame that such a respected institution as Instituto Cervantes, funded by the government of Spain, is...

Sr (a). Qué POCA DIGNIDAD Y RESPETO LE QUEDA A LO QUE ME LLENABA LA BOCA INVITANDO A "VUESTRO CENTRO: INSTITUTO CERVANTES" -EXCLUSIVO PARA UNOS CUANTOS, VEDADO PARA OTROS COMO LA QUE ESCRIBE TANTO COMO ESTA ESCRITORA Y POETIZA NORTEAMERICANA A LA CUAL INVITE, ORGULLOSA DE VER QUE ESTA AMIGA DESEABA AHONDAR MAS AUN EN NUESTRA RICA CULTURA, EN ESPECIAL, NUESTRO GRAN GARCIA LORCA. VIVIAN M....
