Landmark Cleaners — Local services in New York

We have used this dry cleaner for months of dry cleaning and some tailoring. They seem fine but expensive.

We recently dropped off laundry for wash and fold and realized after the laundry came back that we were missing a couple of pieces of clothing. Landmark denied all responsibility and said they send laundry out to a laundromat and didn't seem to believe me that it was missing. For what it’s worth, someone else’s clothes came back in our laundry so it's clear that the laundromat mixes different people's laundry in their machines.

Landmark has a sign posted that negates their responsibility for the laundromat’s lost items. I'm not blaming Landmark - but they outsourced part of their service to another business who lost our stuff. Landmark claimed they would look into it but never returned my multiple calls which we found unprofessional. They then told me to contact the laundromat directly, and of course the number for the laundromat doesn't work.

Landmark charged me for my wash and fold and won't reimburse me for my lost items, regardless of whose fault it was. We will be taking our business and...

I paid $35 to have my pants altered and picked them up to find the stitching clearly uneven and crooked. It looked rushed and careless. When I calmly pointed this out, the owner cut me off, grew increasingly angry, raised his voice, and kept saying he’d “done his best” and that I’d never find better work. He even told me to try somewhere else. There was zero willingness to inspect the issue or make it right. I paid to avoid further conflict and left—won’t be back.

This was a simple job, and with several people working in the back, it felt like the work was passed off and not checked. As the owner, he should stand behind the result and his behavior.

Their website claims: “We pride ourselves on only the most impeccable care for your garments and the friendliest customer service in New York City. We hope to serve you soon!” My experience was the exact opposite—both in quality and customer service. Based on what I saw, the many glowing reviews don’t match reality.
