Went back recently...they are even better than before, full on 5...can I give a 6? It was my first time at their new location, a little bigger but same lovely, cozy, calm, chic vibe. They use better lash lift tech now.

The most perfect curve I have ever wanted! How did my eyelashes look so long? What is this sorcery? Before I left, I was told "don't get them wet for 3 hours, no mascara for 12" "Wasn't it 24 h--"

"That was 3 years ago." [giggle]

It is truthfully not perfect. But give me a sec (or 5 paragraphs) to explain my 5 star rating.

Full disclosure: I don't know anyone's name here. Because my memory is horrible. Also because every time I need my lashes lifted, I'm in a rush so I take whatever availability there is. They also seem to add new people every time I'm here shrug.

The first time I booked was after my friend tried it after I found out lash lifting was a thing in SoCal. I booked online (it is much easier than calling, trust me), and when I arrived, the person I booked with was not in. I was explained to that she was out sick, but the lone gal holding down the fort, would be doing mine. Y'all. Lash lifting is NOT easy. The first time I had it done, the tech sat next to me the entire 50 min. This girl was doing three people rotating in and out at the same time. She was flying. Even with all of that, my lashes were done perfectly. I don't like them too dramatic as I think sometimes with short lashes, they try to lift them up higher, but it really is just over curling and having the tips touch the eyelids. I had told her I wanted them natural and they were even better than the first time I have ever had them done.

The second time...I guess what I wanted wasn't in the system and it was with another girl. I explained what I wanted, pretty much like I did the first time but it was over curled. It was fine after like two weeks after they fell a bit, but I was mildly disappointed. The third time, a third girl, asked me if I wanted it the "same as before." Which in my mind was, yes like the first time. But I said yes, a more natural curl and it ended up somehow being even more curled than the 2nd time. So next time I know I have to super clarify that 1) not like before and 2) have them bring out that chart again so we can all be on the same page.

But why is it still a 5? Because I strayed one time between visits 2 and 3 to another location and not only did that place take 40min longer to do my lashes, it didn't last as long as Mai's. There aren't that many places that understand short Asian lashes, so Mai is a treasure to have. And truly, because even though 2 out of 3 times have been over curled, each side still matched each other, so at least they're consistent.

Let me start off by saying this has been one of the best beauty experience I have had done.

Gigi is hands down one of the most professional and kindest person I have had the pleasure of meeting.

I stood around waiting for an hr for the train. I was 30 or so mins to my appt and I called mai lash to let them know. Not only were they super accommodating, they let me know my options and that they could squeeze me in at a certain time.

When I got there Gigi greeted me and explained to me the difference between the I and C curl. She suggested something in between and I trusted her. Throughout the whole process she explained what she was doing and asked if I was doing ok. When it was over all I could say was WOW!

My lashes never looked better! I highly recommend this place. They give you a tube of castor oil which is great of them to do. They really care about their craft. I'm definitely going back once more before my move to California. So sad I didn't know of this place sooner!

Oh btw the establishment is super cute and clean! I love it! First time customers get a discount which is awesome! I wish I would have tipped her more. Totally deserves it.

I have been going to Gigi since 2011 and followed her to every location she ever set up shop. She is a perfectionist and amazing at her craft. About 2 years ago, I made the mistake of going to another eyelash technician because I couldn't get an appointment at the time I needed. It was the biggest mistake as they burned my lashes off. Since then, I have never gone to another salon. Gigi is my favorite go to, but she isn't always available to my schedule so I've tried all the other technicians. I can 100% say that all the others such as Jane, Hana, Ai, and Sandylee are amazing and I know whichever of them I go to will do an amazing job. The standards they have from the products they use to the cleanliness and care they provide is unmatched. I will never trust my lashes to any other place and know you will not regret going...
