WORST SKINCARE PLACE IN NEW YORK...ABSOLUTELY AVOID AMY.
I visited Pretty Please for a facial treatment. After reading a lot of reviews and seeing Jennifer's reels on Instagram, I was very excited about the visit and was looking forward to a pleasant experience. However, I must say I am very disappointed and unhappy about my experience.
I initially wanted to book with Jennifer but when I called I was told that Jennifer was fully booked and that all staff performs treatment just like her.
Amy was warm and kind at first, and I enjoyed our chit chat before the treatment started. I also liked the atmosphere and the vibe of Pretty Please very much, and felt very relaxed when I first walked in. However, when I lied down and she took a close look at my face, she informed me that I had a coldsore and asked me to reschedule the appointment. I told her that my coldsore had already healed based on what the doctor said and what she saw was a scar. Nevertheless, she said as long as she can see something on my face, there is a risk that she could be infected. I understood and respected the policy, and so I asked if we could do something else, such as a back facial, since I didn't want to waste her time.
She agreed and we ended up doing the back facial. However, the experience was horrible. First, the treatment only lasted less than 30 minutes, even though she told me that the treatment would last for 1 hour. I understand that we had spent some time in the beginning trying to sort out the facial issue, but I'd appreciate it if she could tell me upfront that the treatment time would be reduced. Also, her hands were very cold and it was a bad experience to have cold hands constantly rubbing my back. The treatment itself was terrible; she basically applied different oils on my back with no skills whatsoever.
When we ended the treatment in less than 30 minutes, she emphasized again how my coldsore could've caused a risk to her and her customers. I felt a bit uncomfortable that she had to keep mentioning this, given that I had already told her that I appreciate the situation and had switched to a different treatment so that I could still pay for her time and service.
Furthermore, when they sent an automated email asking for feedback after the visit, I spent a long time expressing my concerns but no one ever got back to me. They clearly don't care about customer satisfaction (not when it's expressed privately).
Overall, my experience was very bad because of the way she treated me. More importantly, the back facial was totally not worth the price based on what I described above.
There are so many facial places in New York with much better customer service and expertise. I would definitely not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was new to New York with a regular esthetician back home. It is near impossible to find a good quality, not overpriced esthetician in New York. I hunted high and low to find THIS type of environment and service. I had my first appointment today with Jennifer, the owner, and I can not say enough WONDERFUL things.
Jennifer is extremely personable and dedicated to finding a good regimen for your skin. She individualizes and personalizes skin treatments (and from my experience everyone's skin is different), was extremely gentle with extraction (I barely felt her despite everything she removed), and provided all of this in a quiet, relaxing environment.
Jennifer radiates positivity and passion for skincare. Pretty Please is holistic and focuses on using natural and organic products ( Eminence, for those who know skin care lines) but also encourages incorporating a healthy lifestyle- avoiding food triggers and internal inflammation. As a nurse practitioner, I value people in health and wellness who understand that good skin goes deeper than the surface.
In New York, I rarely use the word affordable and in skin care or beauty services I expect to pay a certain amount for good service-- but this is an incredible service for an extremely AFFORDABLE price. I originally purchased a deep cleansing treatment online and at the time of service, she DOWNSOLD me to a less expensive treatment (signature facial for 130$) by telling me I didn't need all of It (where in the world have you ever had that happen?! Let alone in New York! ). It just goes to show that her business is entirely about YOU and your skincare needs.
Needless to say, I left feeling cleansed, relaxed , and confident with my future with Pretty Please...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOUTSTANDING ! A little oasis in the heart of NYC, a āgemā in all regards. I discovered Pretty Please Skincare and Jennifer (its remarkable owner/lead skin therapist) years ago based on its wonderful reviews and was hooked; far better than high-end places I had been. This was my first time back since pre-covid and my skin was badly in need of help after three years of masks, rosacea, clogged pores (you get the idea).
As soon as I stepped inside, I was enveloped by the spaās beautiful calm ambience. Jennifer is a world-class pro, she customizes treatment for each client, explaining everything she does. In addition to being exceptionally knowledgeable and thorough with a magic touch, she is also warm, welcoming and kind. I left not only with clean, āprettyā skin aglow, it also melted away a boatload of tension that I didnāt even realize was there (facial/neck/arms massage included). [I had the Signature Facial.] Afterwards, it felt like I had been on a magnificent vacation without leaving NYC!
I wanted a friend to experience what I just fabulously did so got a GIFT CARD while there ā heāll love it (āPretty Handsome Facialā after all, fellows need facials too!). I think a facial makes a perfect gift for family & friends.
Itās easy to book online and very conveniently located (popular Eataly is nearby for a coffee or a bite) and Madison Square Park.
Whether you are a facial āregularā, or simply want to be ākindā to yourself, or are visiting NYC and want a reprieve from sightseeing, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Pretty Please!! Thank...
