Mansion Beauty European Nail Studio — Local services in New York

I have been consistently going to mansion beauty for Russian manicures for the past 3 years, every 4 weeks. When I say they are the best of the best, I mean it entirely. I have tried other salons that claim to do the same thing, but the level of service at Mansion is elite. It is always clean and sanitary, every single nail tech is amazing (I have literally worked with 10 different girls over the years) and I am ALWAYS happy when I leave. Additionally, if I break a nail after my service (within a few days), they are always accommodating to fix it for me without additional payment. They can do anything from a solid color mani, to the “Hailey Bieber glazed donut trend” to the most intricate pattern you find off of Pinterest. In addition to the quality of service, the customer service is just as good. The owners Kira and Gulnara are kind and friendly, and I love being able to support a women owned business. I went to Mansion Beauty for an advanced gel manicure, expecting to pay the listed price of $120 for the advanced gel and $30 for the French manicure, as listed on their website. The manicure itself was great—no complaints about the quality. However, I was hit with an extra $60 charge for a "double French" design, which I wasn’t informed about beforehand. To make matters worse, "double French" isn't even on their price list, so I had no idea I’d be paying more. While I’m happy with how my nails turned out, the surprise charge left a bad taste in my mouth. Charging an extra $60 on top of an already pricey manicure without any warning is just bad customer service. I hope they improve their communication and price transparency in the future. I ended up paying over $200 with tax and tip for a gel manicure because I didn't want to punish the nail tech for the salon's lack of price transparency, which is absurd even by Upper East...

Usually a hit, but I had a really bad experience recently. The nail tech did not ask me what shape or length I wanted for my nails and immediately filed off all my nails. Then she shaped them into round squares when I had come in with long oval nails. I was upset at this point and asked her twice to make them round. I guess she tried but she had cut them off so short (again, without asking me) that she couldn’t do anything about them.

I’m not sure if I’ll come back after this really disappointing experience. I had loved this place for about a year, but I’m so disappointed with my experience this time around. If you go here, it might be worth it to say what shape and length you want outright so they don’t just do what they want...
