Problems problems problems. When you cause unprovoked problems, they come back to haunt you.
There was a time when this place was very good. Unfortunately a certain somebody who knew nothing about what was actually in the certain designer shops was totally unfamiliar with the product. THIS IS FACT. THIS RATING IS FACTUAL. So listen.....anyway I brought in a crocodile clutch from Calvin Klein Collection(yrs ago) and owner claims 'this is fake'.. Really? You refuse to ask questions and make false determinations on something you know ZERO ABOUT. WERE YOU AT CK STORE ON MADISON AVE EVER???? NOOOOO YOU WEREN'T. This was years ago but this must be exposed. As a designer I only deal w luxury product. When owner claims this you know it will become escalated. Just soooo you did not know the product and yet, yes, yet, w the hang tag on it saying Nile crocodile, owner claims otherwise plus w price on it and stamp in interior. JUST BLATANTLY DUMB. I saw her do this to other people also. Just not knowing product is fiercely stupid. Another issue to be spoken about. A psychiatric problem salesperson at a downtown store weaponized a certain situation. She actually called Michael's and out of spite and jealousy made a false claim against me and again, the stupidity of the owner believes the liar revolting against me and made phony claims against me so it escalated for NO REASON AND BECAUSE STUPID OWNER DIDNT CHECK HER FACTS. EASILY SWAYED AND PLAIN DUMB. I SAY STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. THEY CAN CAUSE PROBLEMS WITH NO FACTS TO BACK UP THEIR PHONY BELIEFS. RIDICULOUS STAY AWAY...
Read moreI live a block from this shop and decided to check it out. That Aliah Sheffield song that goes, “Earth is ghetto. I want to leave,” started playing in my head as soon as I got there. First, you have to be buzzed in like a 24-hour bodega. Some karen was exiting as I arrived and very deliberately blocked me from getting in as she fought to smash the door shut. Rude AF. “Well, they like to buzz you in.” Uh, huh. Okay. So I rang and waited as they didn’t pay attention and didn’t open. Finally, I was in and I think I stayed less time than I waited. For all the “buzzing in” it was a chaotic mob scene. The merchandise displayed was nothing like the photos online. It was sloppy and just cringe like a TJMaxx at the end of the day around Christmas. The displays were messy. The quality was poor. There was no identifiable organization. Their shoes and purses are USED used, like I wouldn’t have donated most of it, much less tried to consign it. The shoes were worn out, molded to the shape of other people’s toes and unclean inside. The bags, too floppy to hold their shape, were sat sadly on shelves. The clothing was slightly better but much of what I saw had pilling and other obvious signs of wear, and the sizes were 0, 2, 4. The prices were ridiculous for the quality of stuff. I’m used to consignment shops carrying “excellent” and “like new”condition items and things with tags still on from RECENT seasons or true, classic or recognizable “vintage” that speaks of a moment in time. This was not that. It was giving, “Mom finally cleaned out her closet.” Disappointing and...
Read moreThe only thing pleasant about my experience is the sweet lady that greeted me when I walked in. I explained to her that I had a brand new YSL bag I was thinking about consigning. She then directed to me to the "experts" in the back , one of them named Rosie. Rosie had a very uninterested look on her face, before I even took the bag out. I gave her the bag and she gave me a strange look, then she gave it to the other "expert". They then went to google to look up the bag (not even the actual YSL website). They whisper to each other, then she turns to me in front of another customer and says "we' re gonna pass, because its fake!" I ask " how is it fake?" She says "because of how it feels". I was embarrassed & l left. I went downstairs next door to another consignment store to see if they were going to tell me the same thing and they told me the exact opposite. My bag was real! I then went on to the actual YSL store on 57th Street and they told me it was real as well. I believe I was profiled. At the end of the day its not what you bring to Michaels, its who you are that's bringing it there. If I looked different maybe I would've been taken a bit more serious. Rosie looked at me like it wasn't possible that I could be carrying such an expensive bag. No one should feel the...
