Nordstrom Local West Village — Local services in New York

Same service you’d expect from a large Nordstrom. Came here to drop off men’s shoes for repair I had previously purchased at Nordstrom. The service was great. They called the main repair center to find out details of the repair and replacement soles to make sure they had all the components necessary to fix the shoes. They didn’t have the exact brand components so I opted to go to Mephisto but they could have totally been able to do it. I looked around while they were finding out the details. They have a tiny pop up gift shop and a few pieces for styling ideas with dressing rooms for personal service. They have alterations and prices and turn around time were very reasonable. While waiting I sat and waited in one of their multiple benches and couches and was offered juice and water. Keep it up Nordstrom. This location isn't an actual store but rather an outpost where online orders can be picked up in person, which is great news if you either A) can't or don't want to physically go into a Nordstrom to shop, B) like online shopping with reckless abandon but feel guilty about it so you decide to pick your order up irl [but still don't want to give into the temptations present in a Nordstrom store], or C) don't trust your stuff to be delivered by mail because it's New York and that happens more often than you'd expect. Mixed feelings about this spot, but today, 2 pm - 2:30 pm, I got a recording that they are closed. Their store hours today are supposed to be 10am-6pm. Nordstrom main customer service emailed the store because my issue had to be resolved locally, and an hour later I got a call from the Store Manager, who was really incredibly helpful! In sum: quality of your experience depends on who you are dealing with, and if they aren't up to snuff you've just got to speak to try someone else.
