My husband and I can, without any reservation, recommend Brian Dalthorp at PopStudios. We found PopStudios when they offered a special deal on an hour-long photo session, which we used to have our engagement photos taken. We were so impressed with Brian’s flexibility, sense of humor, and professionalism during our engagement shoot – to say nothing of the photos themselves, they were exactly what we had hoped for and Brian really delivered!
As we continued to plan for our wedding, we knew we wanted Brian to take our photographs – we were already really comfortable with him and knew he would do an outstanding job. Brian worked with us to create a package that was within our budget that we were really pleased with. On the day of, we didn’t have to worry about anything when it came to the photos – Brian had everything covered. He got all of the necessary shots and they turned out beautifully – and he captured so many wonderful candid moments amongst us, our families, the wedding party, and all of our guests. Even though Brian was under a lot of pressure to get the family shots quickly (we held our wedding outdoors quite late in the day, so he didn’t have much time to use the natural light from the quickly setting sun), he did so with grace and humor. Our wedding guests also loved Brian and talked about him – by name – after the wedding.
Brian exceeded our expectations in so many ways. Prior to our sessions, he hadn’t taken shots in the park we wanted to have our engagement photos taken (Fort Tryon in Inwood, Upper Manhattan) or where we had our wedding ceremony and reception (the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture near Prospect Park) – but he expressed his enthusiasm and he also scouted out the places well in advance, so he knew where all the good spots would be ahead of time. We have him, and PopStudios, to thank for our photographs that will remind us of one of the happiest days of our lives...
Read moreOK, so I arrived late and Brian, PopStudio's founder, made sure I acknowledged it. My new company was paying for headshots, scheduled me for a time of my choosing, but neglected to give me PopStudio's contact info to give them a heads up if I were going to run late. And of course, I was late. So, I didn't think Brian's attitude was misplaced, and in fact realized, "This guy is a professional, not just some photographer. And just like I need my time respected, I gotta respect his time, too." And that first impression pretty much sums up my entire experience at PopStudios - no nonsense, professional, and very high caliber. You get what you ask (and pay) for. Never modeled before? No problem, they'll guide your every pose through dozens of shots. In fact, if you don't like your shots, it's because you don't like yourself, because whatever can be done to make you look good on camera, they'll do. ...
Read moreBrian is an incredible photographer, as well as a super nice guy. He shot our wedding photos this summer and they turned out better than I could have imagined. He is a true artist and he spends time on every photo positioning things just right, and capturing the perfect natural light. My husband and I looked effortless and radiant in all our pictures, which wasn't an easy task since it was 100 degrees outside and we (mostly me) were cranky and exhausted. He also did a few interesting things with lenses and angles that turned out great (and made us look very thin!) Also, my husband and I were late to our own wedding and completely messed up Brian's schedule, but he was so patient and kind and found a way to make it all work. I really can't say enough nice things about the whole experience. I wouldn't hesitate to...
