Scenery Roof — Local services in New York

Arun is a scam artist. We booked an event 2 months in advance with him for his rooftop. He quoted us a price and we signed, and agreed to the terms and condition of the contract. And we paid for a $2 million insurance policy requested by him.

2 weeks before our event Arun contacted us with some lie stating Community affairs and police chiefs reached out to him and informed him not to host our event. He said he could get around it and we could still do our event if we gave him an extra $5000. We reached out to a couple of our associates and they informed us that he regularly does this with people and companies that aren't well established.

We met with Arun in hopes to salvage the event. He told us that our social media presence gained the attention of the community, however we never even promoted his venue once on our social media. We asked to see the complaint and he said he didn't have it, instead he show us a DOB inspection violation for his establishment.

He said this was happening to us because the color of our skin, which i couldn't believe even came out of his mouth. I heard about racist scenarios occurring with this establishment previously but by the way Arun initially presented himself I didn't choose to believe them, he seemed like such an understanding and enthusiastic person at first but little did we know. He tried to take advantage of an up and coming racially diverse group of individuals because he seen opportunity.

Please do not do business with this establishment, they will look to get over on you one...

The music is extremely loud and can be felt throughout the surrounding area, with the bass and DJ both clearly audible from within one's own apartment. The bass can be felt reverberating in the walls from blocks away and the business is unresponsive to continued complaints and is a disrespectful neighbor in the LIC community.

This place also flouts the official NYC quiet hours and plays loud music with DJs...

Dope venue for an event. I will say the promo video for this place was very well shot. You think the place was on a much higher floor. (Spoiler alert) it's on top a single story restaurant. So technically it is a rooftop. If only 12 feet off the ground. But staff was nice , bathrooms kept clean. And I like the cup deposit thing . It keeps it...
