I love Shero! It is my go-to nail salon in the city (full disclosure- I have not been to that many). Pricing is what you expect for Manhattan- I pay ~$45 for basic gel nail polish manicure (not hard gel or gel X). The add ons (chrome, cat eye, extension tips, nail art, french, ombre) are a little bit expensive and add up- so depending on your budget definitely get a quote for what your set will cost.
The nail technicians and staff are all really nice! Very friendly & sweet, and great customer service. My favorite nail techs there are Crystal and Nana.
Crystal and Nana are very detail-oriented when it comes to shaping and ensuring your nails look the best. They are very patient with helping me find a color I like, matching pictures I show them, and ensuring it matches my skin tone as well. I like that the technicians have great team work, and they all seem to help each other out, and compliment each other's work and cheer each other on when they do a nice set for their respective customers :)
I did have 1 experience with someone else that was less than positive, however their management was very attentive to correcting the issue and resolved everything.
My natural nails are typically thin and weak, but with gel manicure they are able to grow out strongly, mostly without chipping. When I get my nails done, people think they are all extensions and not my natural nails, because they look that good! My gel manicures here will easily last 2 weeks looking almost like new, and 3 weeks is still ok, but getting there in terms of growing out. Closer to 4 weeks there will be chips, but I think that is expected?
It is pretty easy to get an appointment here as well so not too many issues with maintaining your nails if you have to go regularly.
The salon is bright, clean and well-ventilated. Overall, I recommend Shero...
Read moreThe place was pretty good and clean but has some negatives: At first I was told a Gel x manicure would cost 120!! Then with a Pedicure the total was 165. They charged me $20 extra for french tip on toes and hands So then the total came out to 180 with tax. Usually when I go to salon, the total is around 130 with designs and extras so this cost is absurd. With all that being said when it was time to pay I gave the lady 15% tip. Then the young lady at the front desk demanded I gave 20% tip. Usually this is not much of a tip but this was my first time going and I don’t tip as much if i don’t know the place well. This is what she said to me:” I saw that you only gave her 15% and if you really liked the service you would give more” Then I said” Is it mandatory?” She said no and said “ Write more tip on the receipt so it will be added ” I was completely shocked because a tip should never be mandatory or demanded. This was completely unprofessional. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place. Even though the service came out nice The prices and the staff were horrible. I definitely don’t recommend. They lost a...
Read moreI think they do a solid job and are really receptive to feedback. I am picky with how my nails are shaped, and shero gets them the closest to what I like.
Unfortunately their service is where it falls short for me. My friend and I both made an appointment and arrived on time only to be seen 45-60 minutes later. We understand that things get busy, but it felt misleading when they started to soak off my existing gel manicure as if I was going to be seen right away. At one point, I thought they forgot about us because my fingers low-key started burning from how long they were left to soak. Ultimately the manicure was fine, but we were there for 2.5 hours total.
I am not saying that they needed to apologize for something out of their control, but an acknowledgment of the situation or even telling us from the start that it would be a wait would...
