SLT Tribeca — Local services in New York

I gotta be honest, I had an unpleasant experience here several years ago. Initially I didn't leave a review, but now I see new locations open and I wanted to share my story.

I purchased the starter pack of 2 classes, and the instructor was very absent, didn't explain any movements enough that I could understand how to successfully execute them (it was my first and last time on the reformer) but talked a lot about her personal life, her fiancee, and their upcoming vacation. I'm not a weak person, I teach mat Pilates myself, but I felt absolutely helpless. This one experience really left a bad taste about this studio and reformer machine. I didn't come back to take the second class I paid for, cause I didn't wanna feel like a failure anymore.

Again it happened 5+ years ago, I'm not even sure if the same instructor still works there. But I'm not going back, and I don't recommend for beginners. There are so many different boutique workout studios that offer way more support and sense of community. My experience here...

After having gone to the Williamsburg studio, I think the Tribeca location for SLT is much larger, and the space and then you feels nicer. The classes are just as tough, depending on which teacher you take. Scheduling privates is a hassle. They take several calls and emails to get back to you. I think their rates are on the higher side even for nyc. I had rani as my “trainer”. She was cold and barely greeted me as a new client. Additionally in our session she was barely correcting me and when I asked her if I was doing things right she would say sort of and offer me no help.
