I got the mani-pedi Groupon. I don't want to complain because it was really cheap. However, I made a reservation, and still had to wait around 30 minutes before they could seat me at the pedicure chair. They then pulled a bath for my feet and walked away. I thought they would be back right away because I had already picked my colors. But it was only after ANOTHER 40 minutes of waiting before they said they were ready. There were only 2 other people who were already working so I guess I was waiting for them to be done.
I just don't understand why they would let you make a reservation, but not have anyone available. I could have just left and come back but they don't tell you anything and make you wait... My feet were basically pruney by the time they were ready for me. If it wasn't for the wait this would be 4 or 5 stars but it's pretty ridiculous to enforce a reservation only rule but then have an hour wait without explaining when they might be free.
My nails and feet were done pretty well though, and I enjoyed the atmosphere, it's a very pretty salon. Just fix your reservations and organization! It's a pretty common complaint on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame to Chinatown on Christmas because I wanted to get my nails done and I figured I'd find a salon that was open. A couple things you should know before going:
Pretty big language barrier, techs are primarily Mandarin-speaking and know simple English, but I was still able to communicate with them via translator app.
They do NOT have nail extensions! I originally wanted a full set of stiletto nails and I probably would have gone elsewhere if I had known this, but by the time I found out I had already had my pedicure done and I didn't want to go to another salon. Settled for a regular gel manicure for my short little nails instead 𤣠Totally not their fault, I should have specified when I first came inside as all I asked for was a manicure.
Other than that, had a great and pleasant experience. Not sure why so many people say the techs are rude when I did not have this problem at all. Pricing wasn't bad either, $65 with tax for regular pedicure + gel manicure. They had a mani-pedi deal for $30 as well, and I haven't seen prices like that since I lived outside of NYC. They do take...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDisclaimer I went a long time ago, but I think that attests to the quality of the work as I still remember. I come from Latin America where mani/pedis can't be topped and the young lady that did mine impressed me a lot. My hands and big toes have never been cleaned so well! I do have very sensitive cuticles and she hurt me a tiny bit and I did get the small bits of skin on the top part of the nail a week after. But the job was very well done and I was excited to walk out of this service (for once).
I did have a Groupon but it's still $35 for both services and that is not horrid. The tip situation is true, I've never understood why I must tip. She did ask me to do it when I was leaving, which I find strange because it IS my choice and shouldn't feel pressured. But I gladly tipped as I was super happy at the moment.
I'm not sure if this is a positive or negative review anymore haha. But I guess it comes down to the fact that I really loved it. Clean, pretty, classy. They do need to work...
