I’ve lived in New York for over ten years and have experienced everything from exceptional nail care to truly awful service—and sadly, Sundays Hudson Yards falls into the latter category.
When Sundays first opened here, I was thrilled. The space was lovely, easy to book, and my first few visits were solid. But starting in 2024, the quality of both service and professionalism declined dramatically.
On April 17, 2024, I came in for a Signature Mani and Pedi with Callus Removal. Less than 24 hours earlier, there had been a death in my family. Mid-pedicure, I received a phone call about funeral arrangements—an urgent, emotional matter. The front-desk attendant loudly scolded me that phones weren’t allowed and stood over me until I hung up, despite my being visibly upset. It was humiliating and profoundly insensitive.
Then on September 4, 2024, I booked a Buff Mani and Pedi (with Gel Removal and Callus Removal) and a 30-minute Back & Shoulder Massage—all with Adriana. This was the worst salon experience I’ve ever had. She repeatedly left mid-service, worked roughly and without focus, and over-buffed my nails so severely that they became thin, painful, and brittle—right before my wedding. The “massage” felt like being wiped down with a damp disinfectant cloth, with the door left wide open and constant interruptions. When I tried to clarify how much time remained, she became defensive and snapped, “I don’t know!” I ended the service early out of sheer discomfort.
At checkout, when I said I’d had a negative experience, the receptionist laughed and asked if the massage was “too hard.” I regrettably still left a tip, out of reflex, and received a follow-up “solution” of a free base coat and hand cream—neither of which addressed the damage to my nails before my wedding.
I decided to give Sundays one last chance on October 6, 2025 with Aida for a Buff Mani and Pedi and Callus Removal. Again, the results were shocking: over-buffed nails and callus removal so aggressive that my feet were left raw and nearly bleeding.
The only positives are that it’s easy to book and the space is clean and aesthetically pleasing. But beautiful surroundings mean little when the service is careless, dismissive, and at times outright cruel.
I live around the corner and wish I could support this location, but after repeated issues and visible damage to my nails, I will not...
Read moreUnfortunately my appointment was a bummer. I shared the below with the salon 3 days ago and have not heard back.
The woman manning the front desk was pushy and rude. Please see a recap and additional details below.
My appointment was as follows: 2 manicure pedicures at 5 pm (2 gel mani, 2normal pedi) 2 manicure pedis at 5:20 pm (1 gel mani, 1 normal mani, 2normal pedis)
I arrived at 4:50 pm, 10 minutes early. the front desk woman said - your appointment starts now, we have to seat you.
I said no - I am 10 minutes early and I am waiting for my friend so I will pick my color.
at 5 pm, she came over and said okay it is 5 pm, please go sit. I responded, again, I am actually waiting for a client and will not be starting without her.
She then spoke to the manicurist in a negative way about me but tried to be hush hush in the back.
at 5:05 she said, AGAIn for the third time, we have to start you now. I said no sorry I am waiting. I told her that the 2 appointments after us are also ours and that they can wait if need be. she said nothing
At 5:06 my friend arrived and we started
She rushed my friend to the pedicure area before my friend could pick a color. She then came back and gave a color to the manicurist for the toe color; without speaking to my client.
The manicurist used the color on my clients toes and said - do you like the color? she said no - I did not pick this color.
The manicurist was clearly frustrated and did nothing about it at all.
I had to speak to the front desk woman and say hey - we need a color that matches her manicure.
She was clearly agitated and silently brought it over.
The 2 other people who came to the 5:20 appointment arrived on time with no problem.
The woman at the front chose my gel color and said it would match my toes, it did not match my toes and the colors are very different.
The manicurist who did my nails was rushing me out and said your toes are dry, you can put shoes on.
This was not true, when I got home my toes were completely messed up and it was a complete waste of a pedicure.
All in all - very very unprofessional and disappointing experience. I come to this location to take clients out all the time and this was not the standard that I am used to. The pushiness, rudeness and lack of communication was alarming. The cost of this experience was not equal to...
Read moreSundays Hudson Yards is my go to for a wonderful spa experience for a mani/pedi. After years of traditional gel and powder manicures that left my nails in horrific shape my husband convinced me to try Sundays. I truly have to say it has been life changing. The venue is lovely, light, airy and calming. The staff are most welcoming. My nails were splitting vertically with pain and were so weak and soft that making our bed was a chore. The technicians at Sundays were knowledgeable about getting my nails back into being healthy. The first few weeks I had manicures 2 times each week. They used healthier versions of base coat strengtheners as well as ridge fillers. Every product is soothing and calming. You can feel the difference right away. I was hooked. It’s now been a few months now that I visit Sundays regularly. I have had many of their technicians and they are all terrific. My favorite is Virginia and with their ease of booking services online I choose her. She takes her time to ensure I am having a sensational spa experience. My nails are in wonderful condition. It took me sometime to get used to a natural nail look as opposed to the chunky look of powder nails. The look of healthy natural nails with color is beautiful! Virginia guided me through and continues to show care in keeping my hands and feet in beautiful shape. She always greets me with a smile, remembers my shades, makes suggestions, takes great care in her services that I feel like I’ve known her forever. Sundays is a Special Place! This is not your regular mani/pedi. There are no televisions here, no quick in and out , no chaos.. this is a place to nurture yourself. I am thrilled to experience this wellness and want to thank Virginia and everyone at Sundays Hudson Yards for...
