H&M — Local services in New York

I bought a pair of shorts on Friday, but wasn't given a receipt because the printer was broken. I ended up not needing them, so I tried to return them on Tuesday, using my banking app, which showed the purchase. I was hoping for an exchange credit, but was told that my only option was to get an exchange right then (no refund, no store credit).

I didn't have time to shop, and I wasn't really into rewarding poor service with more money. Told them to just keep the shorts (no need to clutter my apartment with something I won't wear!).

I shop at H&M a lot, and was looking forward to having a store near my office. Needless to say, I won't be back (particularly given that there's a Zara and a Uniqlo within easy walking distance!).

LESSON: If you buy something at this H&M, make sure you really, REALLY want it...because you might not be able...

I went on Sunday night and I admit I got there pretty close to closing. About 10 minutes before closing time. I was in desperate need of a belt and was hoping H&M would be my savior. However, as soon as I entered I was "greeted" by a grumpy employee who just said "we're closed" although in my defense the store should've still been open. I had no intention of roaming the store, so I even relayed that I just wanted to look at belts and asked if that would be okay. Instead I was just told "no, we're closed." These were the only words this employee spoke, not even a hello. If the employee had a better demeanor and attitude, I would not have felt so annoyed by the transaction. I will not be going back to this store just from the lack of empathy and good customer care from the employees. Only go here if you want rude...

Meh.... Really expensive for a very low quality stuff. We talk about 35-45$ for a t-shirt that is pure cotton and acetate with the sewing points already loose or 60$ dollars pants very very thin that would break the fourth time you wear them. Cool for the sport activities section where you could find some good deals but still, kinda expensive for what it is. I only bought a shirt that was on sale for 10$ and from the man sector you need to go down to the entrance that takes like 5 minutes + queue when they have desk on every floor. As European the Americans HeM are totally not worth it. Same low quality stuff that we have in ours just 2/3 times more...
