Roberto Vincenzo, Our Loquacious Guide
In the shadow of Lady Liberty’s stand, We met Roberto, a Sicilian hand, A guide with tales both long and grand, Histories woven like the island’s sand.
With Holli by my side, we took our place, Two Dutch fellows with curious grace, As Roberto set off at a fervent pace, Turning history into a familial embrace.
He spoke of Sicily, his family’s pride, Of vineyards stretched on the countryside, Of ancestors braving the ocean wide, As if this harbor was his own blood-tied.
The statue’s torch, a beacon bright, Seemed to flicker as he spoke his right, To link each stone and storied sight, With his own past, his family’s flight.
Though I longed for tales of Ellis’ halls, Of bustling ports and echoing calls, He painted his life in those island thralls, Making New York his ancestral halls.
Yet as the ferry cut the harbor’s crest, I found myself oddly impressed, For though his stories ran long, full-pressed, He spoke with a heart that truly blessed.

Read moreMy husband had never been to NYC and I had lived here 30 years ago. We took the tour of Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island and 9/11 Memorial and Observatory. "ROB" was our tour guide for the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. He really knows his stuff, very knowledgeable and funny. We had a great morning with him. This tour is not for anyone out of shape. In the afternoon we were met by "AMANDA" for the 9/11 Memorial portion, she was very insightful, knowledgeable and the more personal stories she shared brought tears to our eyes. She really did an excellent job bridging the history of the WTC and showing the forward movement Post 9/11. She was wonderfully amusing as well. I would definitely recommend these two INCREDIBLY, TALENTED, AWESOME individuals to anyone who would like an even better understanding of these landmarks. Thank you, Thank...
Read moreGuide Mike was 5 stars and incredibly informative It is a stunning building and our experience was definitely improved with the extra insight However, for $35 each we were expecting access to more areas than aren’t regularly accessible when commuting- in particular the movie theatre mentioned on the list wasn’t included We know there are other features such as a tennis court we couldn’t see (possibly they look down on large tours visiting 🤷🏻♀️) Everything else on list was included but rather than visiting the Grand Central Madison terminal something else could be included- the stats about how deep it is and the history were interesting but we didn’t need to stand around in a clinical normal underground terminal to do it in my opinion
Top tip: Go in the afternoon so the...
