Pleasantly surprised by this new Mexican speakeasy that just opened up near Domino Park!
The Positives: Versatility: The space has a sit down bar, a private dining area and also an outside patio. Each spot offers a slightly different vibe which makes the place pretty cool. The decor is all sourced from Mexico and they have done a really nice job in replicating the look and feel of a Mexican cantina. Ambiance: We visited on a Wednesday and it was very laid back. They played really good music throughout our time there. Apparently it gets a lot livelier on the weekends so I will be sure to check them out. Drinks: Win-win! The drinks are fairly priced and worth every penny. I would recommend The Palomas, Margaritas and Micheladas. They also offer stronger cocktails and tequila/mezcal flights. Food: The theme is Mexican street food and they nailed it! We tried the flautas, guacamole and churros and all three dishes were good. The Team: Ivan was the bartender for the night and he made sure to go above & beyond to make sure folks were enjoying themselves.

Read moreAmazing new Mexican cantina in Williamsburg. Highly recommend the Quesadillas and Tacos (especially on Tuesday). Also check out the Flautas, and the Guac!
The cocktails are fantastic too and some have quite a kick to them in just the right way. The Besos Calientes was delicious and spicy, and the Paloma was so refreshing, you could drink them all day. Also they partnered with Devocion to include some nice coffee cocktails like their take on an espresso martini, the Toro, which comes with mezcal. I also love that they have some Mexican beers you don't find elsewhere, like Monopolio. They also have a large selection of tequilas and mezcals so you will surely find one that suits your preference.
I've been here a dozen times already and will be there many more. Looking forward to using the back patio for brunches in the summer once the weather gets nicer!
Thank you...
Read moreOk I almost don’t want to write this review because I want to gatekeep the cactus shop before it becomes too popular, but I will, because I’m obsessed with it. When I decided to have my birthday here I held about seven “reccies” beforehand genuinely because I wanted a socially acceptable excuse to eat there every week. The birria tacos are insane, I didn’t even know what birria tacos were until i went to cactus shop and last month I sometimes had them three times a week. (I wouldn’t recommend generally eating that much birria weekly though.) Margaritas are made with moonshine or something they’re so strong. Everything is great value for money, vibes are excellent, for my birthday event they let me take over the music which may have been unfortunate for the surrounding patrons but was great for us. 10/10 would go back...
