I can’t say enough good things about Tam Mai Thai! My friends and I stumbled across this restaurant completely by chance while exploring the city, and it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere that immediately set the tone for an amazing meal.
The restaurant itself has a cozy yet vibrant feel, with the rich aroma of Thai spices filling the air. As soon as we sat down, we were impressed by the attentiveness of the staff. They were incredibly friendly, quick to take our order, and made us feel genuinely valued as customers. Despite how fresh and flavorful everything was, our food arrived shockingly fast—clearly a well-run kitchen that knows how to deliver both quality and efficiency.
I ordered a soup, and let me tell you—it was beyond delicious. The aroma alone was enough to make my mouth water, but the taste? Even better. Every spoonful was packed with deep, complex flavors that were perfectly balanced. The broth was rich and aromatic, the ingredients were incredibly fresh, and every bite felt like comfort in a bowl. It had just the right amount of spice to add warmth without overpowering the dish. You could tell the chefs put real care into crafting each dish with authenticity and passion.
On top of the amazing food, the service truly stood out. The staff checked in just enough to make sure we had everything we needed, but they never hovered or rushed us. Their kindness and efficiency made the entire dining experience that much better.
Whether you’re a Thai food lover or just looking for a fantastic meal in NYC, Tam Mai Thai is an absolute must-visit. The combination of mouthwatering food, incredible service, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a place I’ll definitely be returning to. I’m so glad we happened to find this hidden gem, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an...
Read moreThis place was unbelievable! Total hidden gem and a new favorite. My girlfriend and I went after visiting MoMA and wanted to avoid tourist traps. Service was extremely fast and kind (food was served within 8 minutes of ordering). There is also a fun promotional game where you pick a playing card and based on that card, receive various prizes related to your meal (we won 5% off the bill, but you can win up to 50% off). We got the crab green curry and the tofu pad Thai and both were phenomenal. The pad Thai was the best that my girlfriend and I have ever had, and we have had our fair share. The green curry with the crab was delicious with the perfect amount of kick and a lot of crab (one small soft shell crab in its entirety and some lump Crab meat). We also started with the spring rolls which were excellent as well. Cannot recommend this place enough!!! BTW this is unpaid for — we are reviewing AFTER paying (if you give them a review you get 5% off). Thanks for a fantastic,...
Read moreThis is honestly one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve found in the city — and it’s so affordable! Everything I tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. ★ Vegetable pad see ew – perfectly balanced with chewy noodles, flavorful sauce, and crisp vegetables. ★ Crab fried rice – packed with real crab pieces and rich crab flavor throughout. ★ Beef cashew – tender beef with a great mix of vegetables and a fun pineapple presentation. ★ Curry puffs – super crispy and flaky, with a flavorful curry potato filling that paired perfectly with the fish sauce. ★ Chicken satay – juicy and well-seasoned with a hint of turmeric curry; the peanut sauce had just the right amount of sweetness. ★ Rosella drink – light, refreshing, slightly sweet with a nice tang. ★ Thai iced coffee – creamy, smooth, and not too strong — just right. The food came out quickly and everything tasted so good. Overall, such a great experience — I’ll definitely be...
