I have filed complaints with numerous State and government sources against the consignment store Wish at 435 Thames St. Newport, RI. Over the winter of 2015 I consigned some coats with the owner Courtney McKay of Wish, which did not sell. However, when I picked them up the belts of the two fur coats I had consigned were not with the coats, which renders them useless because that's how they close and stay on, as there aren't buttons or other closures. I have been by this business many, many times hoping to either speak with the owner Courtney McKay or hopefully get the belts back, but this is never the case. I have called so many times and Courtney is never there, I have left numerous messages for her to contact me and she never has. She is deliberately ignoring my messages and I still haven't heard from her. These are terrible business practices. As an owner, how can you not respond back to one of your customers? There were actually multiple items we were interested in buying, however, we decided not to purchase after the owner of the shop was extremely cold and unfriendly. Very unpleasant experience shopping here. Additionally items were overpriced (found a used dress priced higher than what it was selling for full price online) and multiple items had stains. Read moreThis store closes at 4 (which is a crazy business model for customers who work 9-5??), we get there 5 minutes before closing and the lady was sitting there blocking the door and asked us why we were there and if we needed something because they were about to close. She was extremely rude and kept following us around and stared us down until we left. Also $30 for H&M pants? No thanks! Will go somewhere else with better prices and better...
