I love the way city buildings get in the holiday spirit by dressing up their facades with lights. This is the largest cast iron building in the country, and is the only complete block (extending from 7th to 8th streets) of Victorian commercial architecture in the City of Philadelphia and is part of the National Register of Historic Places. This was once the home of Lit Brothers department store, having been built in the 19th century. With the closing of the store, the building was repurposed as a multiuse entity with retail shops on the basement and first floors, and the upper floors devoted to offices and most recently the Center City campus of West Chester University. Read moreGet Street Concourse is one that SEPTA and PATCO always seem to forget about. It has a constant dank feeling about it, it always feels dirty even after they say it's been thoroughly cleaned. It is confusing and difficult to navigate and for reasons unknown to me except in PATCO are now getting off the underground Concourse that connect from Market to Chestnut Street. The stairwell to Ethan Market that surrounds the elevator is constantly surrounded by panhandlers and addicts who have no qualms about doing drugs in front of you or dropping the pants and we're leaving themselves.
