Lore's Chocolates — Local services in Philadelphia

All the staff there were super friendly and helpful, I had such a lovely time talking to them! They were hyping me up on their chocolate covered strawberries, which are made this unique way so they don't taste like any other confection you've ever tried. So I dropped $4.50 for two medium strawberries in order to try these "unparalleled" sweets, and when I tried them, I was so totally underwhelmed I can't put it into words. First of all, they didn't have a unique texture like I was told they would. And second, they honestly didn't taste that good even for a typical chocolate covered strawberry. I tried two other chocolates from them, very typical unremarkable high end chocolate. Is it worth more than a candy bar you buy at the gas station? Yes. Is it the best chocolate I've ever had?...

I am not very adventurous with chocolate, so we started out with some basic milk chocolate and a few fancier truffles for my partner. The milk chocolate was AMAZING, and I even ventured over to try some of the truffles - which, even though I normally don't like anything in my chocolate, I have to give props to. This chocolatier really takes the time to figure out how to meld flavors well, so even I (a super picky chocolate eater) could enjoy their more colorful flavors (pumpkin pie, maple syrup, etc). I visited Philly on 3/24/24 and did a tour which I learned that Lore’s Chocolate store has been family owned for many many years. I had to check it out. My partner and I could have bought out the whole store but tried to maintain control. LOL! We love chocolates. We got a customized box, caramels covered over marshmallow, and jelly beans. Everything we got was delish and well worth the calories! I would return every time I check out PA.
