I have been thinking of buying a nice chain to put one of my Grandfathers charms on. I have been shopping around a little, Macy’s, I took my life in my hands and went down on 5th street in Olney where I bought my first chain at 18years old. I am in construction and my location always changes, I was working at 8th & Market and figured that I might as well stop at jewelers row, Right? I walked around aimlessly waiting for 10am to come and stores to open, and stumbled upon The King of Jewelers. The lights were all on but nobody was in there, it was about 10:05am. I grabbed the handle and the door was locked, I turned to walk away and a lady came from the back room waving her hand. Her name was Barbara and she was great, I really did not know what I wanted, but I knew what I didn’t like. She help me find the perfect piece without being pushy. Like most of us I am the type of person that doesn’t want to feel like I am being bullied, she answered all my questions with thought and care. I know that they are making money on the sale, but if I can feel happy with my purchase then everybody is happy. I went to King of Jewelers with preconceived notions of Jewelers row being expensive, and strictly for buying engagement rings, I was wrong. Barbara is perfect and I might go back and buy the other chain that I had my choices down to. Go see Barbara and tell her the kid from Olney sent you, Just kidding. Very disappointed with our experience in buying jewelry from the "king" last year. One of the rings we purchased had a major defect both the seller and his appraiser identified. We attempted to have it fixed three times. Instead of fixing the defect all that was done was to clean and shine the ring... not actually fix it. The ring was at their shop for over 4 months. The last time was the best... when I picked up the ring I was told a diamond was replaced. The ring looked exactly the same & when I asked which jeweler replaced the diamond I was told, "we won't tell you." For the thousands of dollars we spent this was absurd. I am now considering my legal options.

There are many reputable jewelers in the area, this is not one of them. Spend your money...
