I honestly had a really uncomfortable experience here and feel upset by it as Annie did seem like she was very nice & pleasant, however this was not a good experience. When we started my massage, she didn’t even ask if there were any areas I would like attention to, although she did make sure the pressure was okay which I always appreciate. She also on and off would talk to the other massage therapist during my massage and it was really upsetting as I could not relax. I also at one point saw her pause and get distracted by something and she had her hands off me without communicating mid massage for like a minute. It was just a really weird, upsetting experience. The environment is also incredibly loud as the upper wall is open, so I heard slapping/the massage noises from the other “room”.
I felt pressured to tip & just really wish I could get a refund because this was not a relaxing massage and I feel really upset by it as I took time off my workday to come and spent $100+ on a massage to make myself feel better after a hard week, and it did the opposite. It was full of distractions and I honestly didn’t always feel good or comfortable during. The “massage” didn’t even feel like a massage, to be completely honest. It felt more like purposeful stretching, weird strokes using the elbows, however I did not receive the Swedish massage I asked/paid for.
Annie did give me a $10 off coupon for next time which was a nice gesture by her however I will not be coming back unless this experience is somehow made right.

The owners of the spa got in touch with me via email and really seemed to understand where I was coming from. I felt they handled this correctly, they did however ask me to delete my review which I won’t be doing as there are still so many areas of concern that occurred during my massage that other customers 100% should know about.
For the massage specifically — please be aware it really is not a genuine Swedish massage. There was no intake, no questions asked or preferences or areas to stay away from, etc. I felt my boundaries were very much crossed during the service as Annie literally straddled me at one point to massage my back, touched my glutes/left them exposed for a very long time, literally used her fists to “massage” (punch) my legs and feet, and left bruises on my legs from it.
While this massage and spa is not for me, that does not mean it might not be right for you. I do appreciate very much how the owners handled my...

My second experience was uncomfortable and this review is meant to warn others. I hope management addresses this so future clients can leave feeling valued — not judged.
My husband booked Leah for a prenatal massage because I was having back pains and wanted a massage to only focus on neck, shoulders, and back. In addition, told her that I do not want scalp massages ever because I find them uncomfortable. I filled out the intake form and she followed the directions the first session. The second session I repeated that I wanted her to focus on my back, but she still did a whole body massage with a scalp massage. While the massage itself was fine, the therapist’s attitude afterward ruined everything. I tipped what I believed was a fair amount, she still made passive-aggressive comments that left no doubt she was dissatisfied where she felt the need to lecture about American tipping culture and her expectations of a 20% tip after paying $130 for a 90 minute massage. The therapists’s comments on the tip amount were judgmental and inappropriate and made me feel uncomfortable. Tipping is optional and personal, and I gave what I felt was fair. Being shamed for it was disappointing and unprofessional.
What made matters worse is that as I was walking away from the door Leah made a comment saying “you’ll be back” after I told her that her behavior was disrespectful and made me feel uncomfortable. At that point I didn’t bother responding, but no I will absolutely not be coming back after such a horrible...
Read moreI completely disagree with Sara Duke's bad review she left on Google. Why do I disagree, because I was getting a massage by Rita while this was going on. I overheard everything Rita and Sara conversation, which interfered with my own massage because it happened during it. Sara was being rude to the owner, Rita, Rita did nothing wrong. I felt that Rita has bent over backwards for this customer and was just trying to help her. After several bookings by a massage and canceling, Sara called today and demanded to get in immediately. Rita said "we are pretty full today but I can get you in at 11:30am, by the way, which was while my massage was going on. Rita kindly asked Sara to go to the website and book it because they were full. They were, I was there today! Do not pay any attention to Sara Duke's awful review. The customer, whom has NEVER even come to get a massage at Butterfly, made appointments and canceled over and over, and then called Rita rude for asking her to please book on line...is completely wrong. I just don't understand Sara's review, just rude in itself. And how can you judge some person or business if you never have even been there.
I have been coming to Butterfly Massage for a long time now. They are hands down the best massage place I've ever been to. The owner, Rita, as well as all the massage therapists, have always friendly, professional, and gone out of their way to make the experience wonderful. I highly recommend them for anyone. They have helped me feel better for a long time now, and they are...
