I went with my boyfriend and got a taro smoothie. I work at a boba place myself so I understand how these things taste and how sugar affects it. I'm a person who likes less sweet desserts so l ordered 50%. When i got the drink there was a hair on it which was really odd and I decided to ignore. Then when I started drinking, it was terrible. I'm not sure if the taro went bad or the milk but it was sour. It was definitely made with rotten ingredients. I decided to go back, inform them of this, and get a refund. When I explained it was sour, one of the two girls working told me it was probably because I didn't put enough sugar in it and asked if I wanted her to add more. I told her no and that it tastes sour. I've had a taro smoothie before with this amount of sugar and it is NOT supposed to taste sour. I asked her to check the date on the milk or review the ingredients used as they may be rotten. She ignored me and chose to not even check. I then asked for a refund and she said she couldn't give it to me but I could choose another drink from the menu. I politely declined as I did NOT want another spoiled drink. I asked why a refund wasn't possible and explained she could just void the order and recharge for the drink my boyfriend got. It was a confusing and stressful situation. The other girl working knew how to issue a refund and gave us one. OVERALL, this was a terrible experience. They were very rude about the drink and decided I was wrong and didn't know what I was talking about without even addressing my concerns over their ingredients. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone and will NOT be returning. I suggest everyone goes to MEETEA CAFE instead, a boba place 2 mins...
Read moreThis used to be my favorite bubble tea joint, but after my last few visits I will never order from here again. The taro in our tea was not even mashed or mixed together as the menu described (see photo), but rather dumped in with milk poured on top; it was impossible to drink the taro through the straw, and was basically tasteless despite having "full sugar" (it was not sweet at all). The music was so loud and grating that it was impossible to make conversation. I thought this might just be a one-off mistake, but our classic brown sugar boba was also extremely watered down.
The menu is also out of date. It listed at least six different toppings to choose from, but we were told that 90% of them could not be added to our drink without explanation. Every time I visit, the most popular drinks are "out of stock" several hours before the store closes at both the Redmond and Kirkland locations. Do not expect anything you see on the menu to actually be available.
I hope things improve here in the future. Otherwise, I will be frequenting Sharetea for Redmond-based...
Read moreReally great atmosphere and the smell inside the store is amazing. Ordering on the tablet is quick & easy, wait time has never been longer than 10 minutes.
Some of my favorite flavors are probably Mango Pomelo Sago(amazing combination), Lychee Fruit Tea(maybe too much lychee-ness(???) but still good), Super Trio Milk Tea(love the combination as well), and Strawberry Fruit Tea(feels like a third of it is stuffed with fruit though).
Not a fan of Brown Sugar with Milk(syrup felt too thick), Taro with Milk(authentic, but it seemed like just taro paste and milk), and Yakult with Pineapple Green Tea(honestly just not a fan of the pineapple bits).
50% sugar and less ice is definitely the way to go for most of them, but some fruit teas have enough natural sweetness for 30%. Their boba is the kind without flavor, and sometimes it's too hard or too soft.
Most teas are around $5 to $6, but with added toppings some can reach $7. Pretty reasonably priced.
Overall one of my favorite bubble tea shops, great variety, and would recommend to pretty...
