I dropped off some Pokémon cards to sell to their location. Talking to someone on the phone and in-person I was told that the process should take about a week but should be faster than that. I told the rep when I dropped off that I would give them a call in about a week if I hear nothing. Calling back a week later I asked to get an update and the person on the phone said he has no info to provide for me bc he knew nothing about the process… He said that the person who does their buying went out of town so “he would guess” it’ll take a week longer since he is off the schedule for a week. So, if do my math, I waited a week to learn that they probably weren’t touched, and have to wait a week for their buyer to come back, to probably wait a week for them to look through them. So almost a month of waiting?… After asking how I can get an update bc he couldn’t provide anything I was told to join their discord and ping someone or just wait…
I understand people need to go out of town but why not contact me ahead of time to inform me that the process could take longer than expected. If I had known that I wouldn’t have waited the week and have taken the bulk to another LGS. Imagine if I didn’t call?
This isn’t the first issue I’ve had at this location. There have been more good than bad, but boy was this the straw that...
Read moreI've been to the Crossroads location back when it was still around and found the staff there friendly and helpful! I'm new to Magic the Gathering and wanted to try playing in person after playing for a few weeks on Arena. I had some questions regarding their pre-release event, so I jumped on discord to ask some questions there to get some clarity. Over the last few days, I've been in communication with James who came off cordial at first, who then turned condescending and demeaning the more questions I asked, because my questions weren't being addressed at all or clearly. I was made to feel like I had a comprehension issue, which I admit I do at times. The description of the event wasn't clear to me, which is why I was asking to get clarification and wasn't expecting to be received by such rudeness.
I really wanted to attend this pre-release event, but I am going to be passing as it sounds like James is the one hosting the event and I would rather not have face to face contact with an individual like this. I'm sure not all of the staff is like this this, but this is my first and only interaction with a staff member at this location and event though it's the closest card shop near me, I'd rather go somewhere else like Mox's in Bellevue where my experience has been...
Read moreUncle’s Games is an awesome store to have nearby. Lots of tabletop games, puzzles and a solid TCG selection. Staff are knowledgeable and passionate about gaming, and they have a slate of populated TCG gatherings all the time.
My only gripes are:
I am a rewards member, yet I never get notified to preorder product. I was told their upcoming Pokemon set is only pre-order, but the pre-order slots are filled up (3+ weeks in advance) — so I won’t be able to buy from them. I had no idea this was ongoing; it’s also happened before with other sets.
They have MTG, Digimon, YuGiOh, Lorcana, OP and others — yet their Pokemon stock is always low and lacking (or, they sold it to the few folks who “pre-ordered” [somehow]). There are 20+ sets of MTG on the wall, and 2-3 sets of Pokemon (at most).
Again — great shop to have local, the staff is fantastic and they are a community stalwart for people who actually...
