My niece was approved to display paintings here for her senior project for college, 3 nude paintings. They're beautiful artwork and not erotic in any sense. She heard uppity patrons complaining (grow up!), next day she returned and was told that the paintings were not to be displayed (due to complaints) except for two hours Friday evening. My opinion is that city council members were somehow involved. That's the word and my "opinion". This being a government institution, we have an interesting First Amendment issue here, including a textbook case of censorship. Like the illegal kind. Remember folks, you don't have a right to censor images at a public institution because it offends you. You do have a right to look away from the image if you're so fragile. Read moreThis review will be really the theater itself. It is an old classic, which means old, occasionaly broken seats, warped floors, and a limited lighting and sound options. But it does function as a quaint small venue. The restroom is in through the art gallery next door which isn't terrible, just not clear that that's where it's at.
