Market On Main Street — Local services in Salt Lake City

Went in to check the place out and purchase some Hi-chew. Recently taking a job a short walking distance away I thought this would be a perfect place to purchase future snacks during work hours. Boy was I wrong. After checking out the store, I went to the register to purchase some Hi-chew. Not seeing the "no debit purchases less than $3" sign I pulled out my card to pay for it. Seeing this he asked "How much profit do you think I make on this?" I guessed 30 cents, he then said "Even with 30 cents profit it's not worth it for me to sell you this" and pointed at the sign. No big deal, I put my card away and flip my wallet over to pull out some cash. To which he says "No, you can't buy this. I don't have change for you and you don't need it anyway" then lightly tossed it down behind the register.

Such an odd expiriance, and entirely his loss considering how close I work and how often I purchase snacks. He missed out on years of patronage. If I were you I would...

This guy holds major grudges on children. Right when I walked in he kicked me out saying he was closed when he wasn't supposed to close in 3 hours. My friends and I eventually came back to ask why he had to lie to us. He said, "No children." and, "No walking around and around and around in my store, this is not Walmart." We convinced him that we wanted to buy something and he didn't allow us to use debit because our item wasn't above 3 dollars. My friend got a 6 pack of Oreos and there was only 4 Oreos inside. My friend claimed that it also tasted odd. Overall not a good experience and I would not recommend shopping at this store because of its poor food quality...

I really enjoy this store! I've been there before in the past and had good service. I went in again yesterday because it was so hot out and I had 10 minutes to spare before my trax train arrived. Its right across from the Galavan stop so its very convenient.

I just got a water real quick. The employee working at the register was on their cell phone. I know some people will see this as horrible service and rude behavior but it really did not bother me. They were attentive and helpful. It was quick and easy, in and out, back on my way. I look forward to...
