Ordered off of DoorDash and the entire order was correct however, every dish was absent of spice and rich, complex flavors. I saw some previous complaints about the food being too spicy and itâs a big fat shame people in salt lake struggle eating food with a little life and spice because I think these complaints sucked the spice and life out of the food from Pleiku. I really wanted to like the food based on the reviews and pretty pictures, but again, there was no depth in flavor. There was also a lack of salt. For reference we ordered the spring rolls (fishy smelling shrimp), the xoxo noodles (only redeemable dish with decent spice and flavor), the caramelized pork, the Asian sticky chicken orange (May as well have been styrofoam), the fried rice (not great) crispy egg rolls (whatever in flavor), the pho suon Bo (the broth lacked in spices, salt and was flat and sad), and the tofu stacks (the tofu was nicely cooked but the sauce was flat). I feel super harsh critiquing this business on this level, but I was disappointed after trying it. I donât even want a refund. I just wish people that are used to bland food wouldnât put bad reviews on places that actually give them flavor and then end up whitewashing whatâs actually good about the place. Sorry Pleiku and thanks for getting my order...
Read moreI have never felt the beed to write a review but Pleiku was the BEST Asian food I have had in so long! I grew up in Las Vegas and moved to Colorado for work so I have an extremely high standard when it comes to Viet, Thai, Pinoy, Chinese and Japanese food since they do it so well in LAS. In CO, I have tried places where they serve Mongolian Beef and nothing satisfied my craving for months until I visited Pleiku in Salt Lake City. I went in for PhÎ and saw they were serving my favorite, the Mongolian Beef! It was AMAZING and brought me back to life. My waiter, Justin was so kind and works so hard for the business. He said the beef was a good choice so I got that and the fries. These FRIES are necessary, do not come here without ordering them or else you will miss out! I cannot stress enough, The Food Was AMAZING!! and totally satisfied my craving. His mother is the chef there and you could absolutely taste the motherly love from within the cooking...It is in the middle of Downtown Salt Lake City so the commute to/from the airport was so convenient. The restaurant deserves to be fully booked every day. I will be flying back with my boyfriend JUST to eat at...
Read morePOOR OVERALL! This was seriously the worst & most overpriced pho Iâve ever ordered. We were charged $20 for a small plastic bowl of noodles & maybe 8 pieces of raw beef. I paid $4.50 for extra meat and it didnât seem like they honored that because it was such a scrawny smallest serving of pho (eye roll)!!!! The broth was pretty bland lacking any kind of rich beef flavor you would find in a great pho. DEFINITELY WOULD NOT ORDER THIS EVER AGAIN, NOR DO I SUGGEST YOU ORDER IT! This restaurant definitely made 500% of their money back on this dish! We also ordered fresh spring rolls and paid an extra $1 for the pork and received two rolls of shrimp, and no pork. Lastly, the pad thai was a unappetizing gross pink color, which weâve never seen before, and all the meals weâve ever had eating at many Vietnamese restaurants. Unfortunately, we were not at the restaurant. We did an Uber eat delivery to our hotel, but had we been there I wouldâve definitely complained to management. WE WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT AS THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER THAI RESTAURANTS IN THE AREA! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, or take a chance been...
