Stopped by for a casual Mediterranean lunch while in Salt Lake City. Came in on a Sunday afternoon and was not crowded at all. There's plenty of bar type and community table settings with about 7 private tables inside and 4 tables on the small patio outside. Typical walk-up ordering system where you order, they give you a number, then bring the food to your table.
Ordered a little bit of everything from the Doner basket, mixed meat wrap, Greek salad, thin cut fries, fried pita strips, and a few drinks. All the food come out within 10 minutes and was made fresh. The portions were very generous and prepared well. They were all good, but my favorite was the mixed meat wrap. The beef and the lamb were both very juicy and flavorful, lamb was not gamey at all. Both salads had a nice mix of fresh ingredients and the Doner salad included chicken. The fries and fried pita strips were good, but I didn't realize they also came with my other food, so was redundant. As far as the baklava roll and the drinks, they were both good. The baklava wasn't as crispy as usual, but still had a good flavor. The drinks were both very refreshing with a good balance of sweet and alcohol.
Although this is a casual Mediterranean restaurant, the food doesn't taste like fast food. All the food used fresh ingredients, was very flavorful, and...
Read moreThis is a review for the downtown location. My mother, sister and I came here last night to celebrate my mothers birthday. I had heard great things about the Draper location. Honestly I was quiet let down by my experience here (at downtown location). The service was lacking to say it nicely. The staff that helped us appeared to be disinterested in his job and had no people skills whatsoever. I almost felt our presence there was an inconvenience to him in some way. The food was overpriced for what it was. The combo arrived with the smallest portion of cold (all three of ours) hard waffle fries. The wrap was good but like I said not worth the $$ I spent (wasted) there. I didn’t want to complain and ruin the dinner but I definitely vented when I got home and shared my experience with coworkers the next day. Such a shame I’d hoped for a lot better. The vibe was pretty cool but then the music was cranked up way too loud and we couldn’t even carry a conversation. Also want to note the floor around our seats was littered in trash spills and food and it wasn’t even busy. The staff were just too oblivious to care and also spent much of their time engaged in conversation with a fellow at the bar (probably a friend from the looks of it). Would not...
Read moreNever been here before. I waited 15 minutes in line at the counter & it wasn't busy AT ALL! The blonde kid behind the counter ignored me as I stood there by myself as he slowly moved behind the bar, so I moved to sit at the bar thinking maybe I'd get service there. There's no sign indicating where to order. No sooner do I sit down at the bar, then a group walks in behind me & all of a sudden he ignores me again & goes over there taking their order. After he'd taken all their orders, he still didn't offer to take mine, so I spoke up nicely saying they should have a sign or something indicating for people who haven't been here before where we need to order because I stood at the register for a long time waiting patiently, & he says very smart-assed, "Well, it's self-explanatory". I left, but that excuse makes no sense. How is it self-explanatory when there's literally not a single indication of where you need to place your order? There's a reason why establishments like this who served food in this manner have such signs. "Self-explanatory"? How so? There's no simple indication to your customers that don't know & your smart-assed punk doesn't know how to talk to...
