Books Inc. — Local services in San Francisco

Not a pleasant experience by the end of it. While I support bookstores, I do not support the rude customer service that I experienced. I noted that a very cute dog bag clip was $4.95, which was a great deal. I was met with attitude and random talk about an “error” despite the tag saying $4.95. The ring up price was then $6.00, which changed after the original price + tax on the screen. Whether a mistake or purposely raising the price, the rude attitude was undesirable, so I’d rather go to another bookstore. Perhaps change the price tag to $6.00 next time,...

One of the employees here, an older man, recommended me a nonfiction book. His pitch was so good that I ended up buying it, and it ended up being one of my favorite books of all time! For anyone curious, it is called "Madhouse at the End of the Earth" by Julian Sancton.

I shopped here during a pleasure trip to SF. It looks and feel like an independent bookstore, though it's actually part of a small Bay Area chain. Aside from a very knowledgeable friendly staff, the store is well-stocked for its size, with excellent magazine, local interest, cooking sections. Best of all, browsing is encouraged.
