It was okay but I didn't appreciate how the white waitress when I asked about different products and what they were and try to investigate the complex Italian dishes that I didn't grow up to though I grew up next to the Gambino's in New York this is not the type of food we ate when I suggested that I like something with cheese and eggplants that would suit my taste the waitress started investigating my taste by saying it all depends on what you grew up to I find that to be an offensive statement she was trying to determine if I was somebody who grew up in America or the middle East or India well I grew up in America and I'm not the waitress I'm the one at the diner basically and she was said okay waitress and I tipped her but honestly it's rude to say that because only another countries to people grow up to one specific diet mostly in America everybody grows up to multiple diets how can I explain what I grew up to my mother a federal boss raised me to Indian food Mexican food Italian food every type of food we went out to every type of restaurant my father is a cancer specialist we went out to dinner all the time I grew up to all kinds of food in Berkeley at the food court I mean what kind of a question is that it's like saying I grew up to some monoethnic diet and some monoethnic country in other words she's trying to figure out whether I'm America or not this is why the election was lost for those Republicans and this is why the ballots were being counted I resent the way she asked me that I've never heard that in my life it all depends on what you grew up to I'm supposed to describe what I grew up to I grew up to about a hundred different type of diets I'm East Indian American went to UC Berkeley for math I'm not a waitress this is why Trump had to lose because a lot of poor white people started getting...
Read moreI had a humiliating experience at Delarosa restaurant in Marina district. As a woman working for uber eats I'm always conscious of my safety and health - both physical and mental. This place made me feel disrespected, humiliated and prevented me from making money. The hosts at this location are all male and all with arrogant and extremely disrespectful attitude. Today a host with red haired beard shouted at me when I picked inside the restaurant looking for someone to ask the customer order's status (not going inside as the posted note said for delivery people) like I was a nasty homeless person ruining customers dining experience, and walked fast to the door to not let me inside (I wasn't going to!). Then he proceeded telling me that the order isn't ready and to step aside. Mind you, I was on a sidewalk which is public in San Francisco and doesn't belong to this restaurant. So this was irritating, but what was worse is that in a matter of 2 minutes while I was staying there waiting for the customer's order several male couriers arrived and he talked to them without issues, and quickly took their orders and gave it to them without condescendence or arrogance. I continued staying there and he continued ignoring me. After 5 minutes without updates for my customer's order I decided it was pointless waiting longer without any updates on the waiting time, with probably some bias on the side of the host or in general this place's hosts attitude toward female couriers, I had to cancel the order without pay. I wouldn't go to this place dining since I feel they're not feminist friendly - no hosts or waitresses or cooks I've seen were female. And their attitude towards me today...
Read moreI am absolutely a fan of authentic Italian food and I hope I can say with a little humility that I know good Italian food when I eat it. Delarosa is on point.
We didn't get too many entrees so I want to come back for more, but we decided to keep it simple - a classic margherita pizza with burrata and the pasta mezzemani.
We opted for spicy marinara in the pizza and it was the best decision we made. I was surprised by how spicy it was! My friend couldn't handle the heat but I thought it was just enough to not take away from the other flavors. It had a rich tomato flavor and the burrata was pleasurably creamy! The basil was unusually patted on after the pizza left the oven, but it was really nice because you got the full hit of that tomato basil combo.
The pasta mezzemani was new to me. Mezzemani looks like a slightly shorter rigatoni, and scamorza is a smoky mozzarella that paired really well with the baked eggplant! Definitely a winner.
We came in around 11pm (pleasantly surprised it was open late for such great food) and the ambience was very modern - music was bumpin (hip hop, r&b, pop, etc.) with all the people there, it was loud but still conversation friendly. We also got some interestingly flavored beers which were on tap.
Overall a solid 5 in my bookmarks, I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes great...
