Crappy place, "Ok" food.

I ordered a "Super Gyro", which is supposed to have 1/2 of beef+lamb. And I was order #61, while the current order being served was about #47, so I knew I had to wait a little bit for it.

After waiting a good 15 minutes, these guys ended up serving order #65 before they got to mine, and it wasn't until I complained about it that they started making my food. And it literally took less than 1 minute to make my gyro (I was watching them do it)... It ended up being a small, overpriced gyro (total paid was a little over $10).

This place has crappy service and crappy ventilation (you could see the smog from the kitchen all over the place, almost like fog). And be sure that everyone that stepped into that place will smell like lamb for the rest of the day.

I get that they were busy (it was a Monday during lunch time), but come on, skipping my easy order to serve at least 4...

March 2023: This gem of a place is still here, post pandemic (if there is such a thing), and their service and food is top notch! Please drop by and show some love, chicken salad comes with a lot of protein and is fairly priced for the area.

Old review: I had a hunkering for Mediterranean-style cooked meat and fries. This place hit that spot.

Located in FIDI on Battery (between Pine and Battery/Bush intersection). Went at noon and the place was busy but not overwhelmingly so. Slight wait for my food after ordering but that's expected at noon.

Food was good and reasonably priced. Ordered the Greek plate with chicken. Came with a bunch of fries, meat, a big dollop of tzhiki (sp?) sauce and some pita bread. It was good.

I'll be back to try a salad next time. 3.6 stars that rounds up to 4 stars for...

If I could give 30 stars I would. This place is authentic, fast and the staff is extremely friendly. I have never had a bad meal in the 15 times I’ve eaten here. I bring all my out of town guests to this place and they all love it. My family came to town to see me and went here without me! I love this place and it is my favorite spot in all of SF.
