Unfortunate how much business-oriented Karma turned out to be. I have been a member for almost 4 years, if not more. Last year I bought passes that were on sale. I was not able to use all my passes last year a they unilaterally cancelled some classes they had available during December. So it’s ok for them to cancel classes but it’s not ok for a customer to ask to extend the expiration date of my current passes due to medical reasons (pregnancy). I sent an email, asked for an extension, Karma took almost 3 weeks to respond just to say the following: “Thank you for your email. Unfortunately, since these class packages were purchased at a special rate (8 for $80 or $10/class), we are unable to extend the expiration date. Sorry about that!”
-Sorry about that!” Incredible how Karma actually considers (NOT) their customers and their medical reasons, selling this yoga studio as a women empowerment center, not allowing to extend a simple expiration due to something so natural to women (BIRTH). Under this context, even more surprising not to offer any other option other than staying with your subscription money. Sadly I will have to report this to the competent public agencies, since Karma is not transparent: there is a clear information asymmetry, which we all know what that means in business. So sad to see the studio I thought was really a cool safe space turned out to be a just business, unaware of the...
Read moreWorkout is good for cardio in a heated room.. Staff and instructors are so rude for no reason. (Sam is the only instructor who has been nothing but nice). The front desk girls have mean girl energy and no one is accommodating or nice at all. They have a 10 hour cancellation policy which is crazy to me.. I was rear-ended on my way home from work (about an hour before class) and emailed them letting them know and asked if I could be moved to the next day class instead. They said no, charged me for the class PLUS they charged me extra for a "late cancellation" fee.. So if you sign up, make sure no major life event happens in those 10 hours because they will not be helpful. Overall more stressful and uncomfortable than other yoga/workout...
Read moreClasses are fine, definitely not traditional yoga but a decent workout if you're in the mood. Better places nearby: YogaFlow down the street for more of a true yoga class or CorePower for weighted sculpt style classes. Classes aside, I had some unpleasant experiences with the staff there. The front desk person was quite rude when I asked to move to the back of the class, and the instructor was very aggressive in asking me to move my mat to "my assigned space" when I was just confused about how their studio worked. Could've been handled better. Overall not worth the price for mediocre classes and...
