UPDATE:
Providing (hopefully) a final update, my last appointment went very well. Cassandra performed a fill on my nail extensions and I informed her prior that my nails were sensitive. She was gentle and there was no pain at all, I'll be coming back to her! In terms of the nails, I've never received a fill on Russian nail extensions before but basically what we did was completely trim off the length of the extensions and apply a manicure on top. That said, the manicure this time around isn't as resilient as my last appointment since it's a gel manicure and there weren't extensions (the only reason why this isn't 5 stars). I like that they have QR codes at the tables for you to order beverages and snacks, very convenient! Additionally, they checked in with me after my appointment via Instagram to see how the appointment went-- awesome customer service. I'll definitely be returning and doing extensions only since my last set lasted me over a month :) Highly recommend!
This review is for their horrible/unprofessional customer service.
I responded to their Instagram post requesting a model for a manicure promptly after it was posted and received a response. After that, I took time off work since the appointment was in the middle of the work day today. However, they informed me that I "needed to have gel".
I wasn't sure if this meant the appointment was for a gel manicure or if I needed to have gel before coming in. I respond requesting clarification and receive no response.
Hours go by, and I'm informed by them that they had booked someone else, still receiving no clarification at all.
I was not selected even though I was the first to respond to the post and this led to a mishap in my work day.
After reading reviews of this nail studio, I'm noticing a trend of unprofessionalism.
They don't respond to their customers unless it's on their time, customers are not prioritized in this...
Read moreI recently visited Zorina after finding them on Instagram. The place is super chic and clean, and I was really excited about my appointment. My nail technician was very thorough and took her time, which I appreciated. However, she did cut too deep into my cuticle, causing it to bleed. I brushed it off and left the salon still feeling pretty happy with my nails.
But now, less than a week later, the gel top on one of my nails has come loose. I’m really disappointed because they advertised that the manicure would last up to six weeks, and here I am with issues after just one week. I've tried calling them multiple times, but no one picked up or texted me back. I ended up booking a free fix session through their website, which said to call or text before booking. Since I couldn't get a hold of anyone, I went ahead and booked the appointment anyway. I don’t live close by and really don’t want to waste my time and money traveling to the marina for nothing.
I’m hoping this was just a one-time mistake and that they’ll make it right. As of now, the experience hasn’t lived up to my expectations.
Update: The salon arranged the fix session and took care of the loose nail. The nail tech was very nice and did a great job fixing it. They explained that the front desk staff was sick and had to go home early, which is why no one was able to answer my calls. I'm overall happy with the resolution. However, I did have to commute twice and waste time dealing with the back and forth. Would I go back? I don’t think so. I mainly went there for the long-lasting promise.
Additional Update. Three days after my fix session (less than week and a half after the original appointment), most of the nails started to get peeled off. I am absolutely...

They since messaged me and apologised. Then a week later out of nowhere cancelled my appointment with a days notice and refunded the $130 I paid. So I paid $20 (tip) for awful nails and to be mucked around. Also this set ended up chipping and breaking after just one week. —-
Unfortunately this place is the only nail salon in SF I’ve found which offers hard gel that lasts the 3-4 weeks it’s meant to. Salon is nice but management and their customer service is poor. Even senior nail tech work on short nails is quite thick, lacking refinement. Lighting in the salon is horrific, I asked for a natural peachy/brown nude French mani with muted white tips. It looked lovely in the salon but once you get outside the colour was very purple - my nails looked frost bitten. They said they’d fix it if I came back in an hour, nearly two hours later they started again, didn’t fix it, asked to come back the next day and put me with a tech which previously hurt me and was rude about it (I’ve said multiple times I won’t see her again) then could only fit me in a week later.
At this point I’ve spent 8+ hours on a single set of nails, they put me on the phone to management, which refused to take responsibility for the situation or comp anything. I had to be very insistent and 20min of back and forth later they relented to 50% off my next refill. Wholly disappointing experience from what is meant to be a luxury salon ($150 for French hard nails before tip).
Shoutout to Anya (nail tech) who was lovely and professional throughout, even when I was starting to get really exhausted and over the...
