L'Amourette Chocolat — Local services in San Francisco

This is a review of the 100% Dark Chocolate Gold bar made from nothing more than: Trinitario Cocoa Beans, Cocoa Butter, and Bourbon Vanilla Beans by Andre V.

Disclaimer: I ceased eating all refined sugar many years ago and began an adventure in the land of the dark that I'm happy to report continues to yield many delightful discoveries.

The elegant understated package boldly announced a pure Venezuelan origin and a 100% cacao content. Within was a rose colored foil that gently encased a sleek shiny perfectly formed bar comprised of ten slightly oversized ingots. If I did not know any better I imagine the maker might be inviting one to seek out a suitable partner in which to bite the ingot into two.Nonetheless I broke the ingot with my two front teeth which were made for such purposes.

What was immediately noticeable is the precise measure of cocoa butter combined with an intimation of the golden Bourbon Vanilla Bean. Were I to jump to the end the bar is beyond exquisite, it is 1st prize and to my knowledge may have no equal. From the moment it touched my tongue the smooth fruit beneath the silken deep earth emerged, remained present longing mouth to simply be still my overly excited tongue could not help itself as it sought out memories of apricots, deep reds, roasted mesquite, espresso from a long forgotten small italian deli, all the reasons that sharps fit so nicely within the vanilla flats of Debussy's Arabesque.

Wow, what a find! Their chocolate is soooo delicious, creamy and with deep, broad taste. I am in total love with their dark milk chocolate, it is absolutely incredible. Only a few natural ingredients, half the sugar and this bit of milk in broadens the flavors, smooths this out to a wonderful big mouthful experience. I love the chocolate absolutely! However, the store does not keep hours. They should post “call for appointment” because I have driven into the city several times just to have them closed or sent friends who are visiting from out of town they have paid to Uber to get to the location just to find them closed.
