New French Nails — Local services in San Francisco

I used their services at least twice a week and this month three times due to special occasions. I went in on Sunday, December 18th, to get my nails done for my engagement photo shoot. I called in and let them know I was on my way. When I arrived, only one person was receiving the service, so the person working called the lady from the back to come and help me. She came out and asked what I wanted when another woman (caucasian) came in. The woman assisting me, “Mie,” I think is her name, said, I am late, and the other woman who came after is ahead of me. She tried to say that I was late and the other person was on time. Thankfully, the lady said to do my nails first. This is the third time I have seen this business treat people of color differently. This nail salon is great for manicures - they do a nice job and my gel manicures consistently last 2-3 weeks. Far longer than any other salon I’ve tried in FiDi or North Beach (I’ve tried 7). Pictures at day 10 of most recent gel manicures. The staff is kind and friendly, but will also let you zone out if you’re not looking to chat.

Prices are also reasonable for the area; as with most salons Venmo or Cash is preferred.

I can honestly say that I have gotten the MOST compliments on my nails since I started going here. Minnie is amazing! She pays attention to detail, makes sure that you're happy along the way (shape, number of coatings, and color), gives great hand massages and is friendly. I always go for the gel manicure with matte finish (you can make any color matte but as a heads up it lightens the color. The black looked more dark grey). I'm not kidding that they last! 3 weeks and no chipping, nothing.
