I recently had dinner at Fish & Farm in San Francisco and overall it was a very enjoyable experience that deserves a solid 4 stars. To start, I ordered the crab cakes, and I was pleasantly surprised by the presentation. Instead of being served alone, the crab cakes came on top of a fresh salad, which made the appetizer feel more complete and satisfying. The crab cakes themselves were flavorful and well-prepared, definitely a highlight of the meal.

For my main course, I went with the classic fish and chips. The dish was exactly what you would expect—crispy, golden batter with tender fish inside. While not the best I’ve ever had, it was certainly good and hit the spot. What stood out was the attention to detail: the server brought out malt vinegar without me having to ask, and there was plenty of tartar sauce provided, which is something many restaurants often skimp on. That small touch really elevated the experience.

To finish off the meal, I tried the blueberry cheesecake, which was excellent. Rich, creamy, and bursting with blueberry flavor, it was one of the best desserts I’ve had in a while.

Service was good overall, though a little on the slow side since there was only one staff member handling the host stand, bar, and tables. Considering that, he did an impressive job keeping everything running smoothly.

If you’re looking for a spot in San Francisco with tasty seafood, solid desserts, and a cozy atmosphere, Fish & Farm is definitely...

I wish there was less than 1 star. Allow me to state that I used to bartend and before tonight I have NEVER EVER left less than 15%. Ever. My wife and I bought $25 tickets to get into fish and farm to be greeted with a rather empty bar. The bartender was unable to produce a gin and tonic and vodka and tonic successfully. On multiple attempts we received maybe one of our multiple drink orders. At the end of the night, on new years, we wanted to close out our tab, it took 45 minutes (12:05am - 12:50am) to find my credit card. Upon finding my credit card they told me the charge without presenting me with a receipt. My fault for not asking for one; however, I would suck sewage through a straw before I ever step foot into fish and farm again. Apparently the owner was standing there the whole time and never approached me to resolve the situation. How unbelievable to me to not care enough about your own business to resolve absolute horrible service. Please believe me when I tell you to avoid this absolutely hideous establishment. You'd be better off grabbing beer from a grocery store and then rubbing your face in broken glass while...

October 2023: Celebrated my mom's birthday dinner here with a total of 11 people. Our server, Mourinho, was very attentive and helpful all night. Kudos for the excellent service.

I ordered the fried chicken 🍗 and was very happy with my entree. There were four pieces and came with coleslaw and mashed potatoes.

I also started with a Hazy IPA that was reasonably priced for downtown SF.

Other people had the mussels, the margherita pizza, pork chop, NY steak, salmon, the sole, the mushroom 🍄 risotto and the chicken Caesar salad. Everyone was very happy with the food.

We also brought my mom's favorite cake to share. The restaurant was accommodating of keeping the cake and bringing it out for us to serve. There was a $25 cake fee added, which is understandable.

Note that they added a 22% gratuity, which was a surprise since I didn't see it on the menu nor was it mentioned when I made a reservation. Seems a bit steep for a surprise mandatory charge. Would that make me not come back again? Maybe. Seemed opaque to spring that on me when I went to pay the bill. But the...

BOTTOMLESS COFFEE!!! Located next door to the Club Quarters hotel, (CQ Hotel) it opens at 6.30am Mon - Fri and 7.30am Sat-Sun TIPS: - if you’re staying at the hotel, this is where your room service comes from. - A lot of the chairs are quite high, so make your request known if you need to sit at a lower table. - Being accommodating for accessibility issues makes this place even better! - Be prepared with your coffee order as you are presented with coffee as soon as you sit down. This coffee is constantly topped up too!!! - bring your glasses. The low lighting and cozy ambience can make the menu a little hard to read if your as old as I am!!! 😊 - Anything you need, just ASK! Staff are so happy to help and accommodate here. Alberto was so happy and friendly, it was a pleasure to have breakfast here. - I had the veggie omelette and coffee and paid just under $20usd. - Come hungry! The veggie omelette was amazing, they give you the choice of fruit or potatoes at no extra cost and it comes with toast - all at no extra cost. RECOMMEND? Yes!!!!
