Majority of the recent 5-star reviews are fake and are likely the friends of the co-owner (P). He also deletes reviews that he (immaturely) feels like “attacks” him. He is trying SO HARD to counter act the 1 star reviews being given. Look at their timeline of the reviews posted. Not even 10 5-star reviews for 2 months, but ever since a handful of 1-star reviews were posted, all of which provided genuine criticism, all of a sudden everyone coincidentally wants to leave 5-star reviews. Additionally, there will be 3-4 5-star reviews posted within an hour span nearly everyday… They’re all fake, disingenuous, and the owner’s attempt to “counteract” these VERY GENUINE CRITICISMS left as 1-star reviews which they view as “attacks.” Stop asking your friends to leave reviews. Stop allowing them to enable your delusions. Not acknowledging your faults is the opposite of what needs to be done. If this store eventually meets its end, don’t act like you didn’t know why. Again, P, these are NOT ATTACKS. They’re CRITICISMS. You need to put your ego aside and acknowledge the reviews as GENUINE CRITICISMS. You’re not a victim of review bombing, just the co-owner of a store that many of your earliest customers have recently become unhappy with. Nobody is out to get you, so stop with that mindset. Grow up and take criticism like a man. You’re not...
Read moreLike others, I was really excited when this store first opened, finally giving the local TCG and Pokémon community a place to gather. Unfortunately, it’s been nothing but downhill since. Pokémon products here are consistently priced well above market, with no real justification other than “product is hard to get.” That’s not how you build loyalty — that’s just taking advantage of people who may not know any better.
I’ve also personally seen the owner, Paul, buying up product at retail stores like Target and Walmart (scalping, plain and simple), then flipping it for inflated prices at the shop. Worse yet, when people in the community bring this up or ask questions, he gets defensive, bans people from their Discord, and deletes any critical comments instead of addressing them like a professional. It’s disheartening to see a shop that had so much potential alienate its own customer base.
As a local, I won’t be spending my money here anymore. I’ll gladly make the drive to Santa Maria or Paso where stores respect their customers and price fairly. Until Paul takes responsibility and fixes this mess, I can’t recommend this store to anyone.
Also there is no "group" that is review bombing him, these are all real reviews and the reality of the owner and how he runs the store and treats his customers that just want to...
Read moreI run a local book club and one of the books picked for our read was Dungeons & Drama. As someone who is known for being a little “extra”, I of course had to go all out for the book club meeting. With the book largely taking place in a game store playing dnd, I thought I’d ask Cosmic Heroes if they would be willing to host. They happily agreed and offered their gaming space in the back of the store for us to use for our meeting. A local DM who plays dnd weekly in that space offered to create a campaign for our group based on the book so we had a full on dnd campaign happening in Cosmic Heroes. The staff was welcoming and supportive and checked in on us throughout the evening. They had Pokémon night going at the same time, as well as Warhammer, and seemed to manage all of that going on, plus customers, with ease. Highly recommend bringing all your gaming business and needs to Cosmic Heroes. Check out their tournaments, use their space for campaigns, and be sure to support them by making purchases. Thanks Cosmic Heroes for helping make our book club meeting...
