Review is for room 3001
minus - 1 star for cleanliness and condition minus - 1 star for misguided info prior to booking minus - 1 star for value minus - 1 star for comfort
We've stayed at several La Quinta hotels and have generally been happy with the stays, especially when it's new (like Zion). That was why we chose this one because it was "newish.” It was a disappointment altogether.
CLEANLINESS & CONDITION Or lack thereof. We found a sippy cup under the curtains that look like it had been there for a long time. Whatever was inside was dried and white/brown. Also, gummie bears and plastic wrappers on the floor. A price tag on the desk, which presumably belonging to the previous guest. At one point, I accidentally splashed a little water on the floor upon arriving and used a towel to clean it up and the towel was black. VERY GROSS. I ended up on the floor using the Lysol wipes we brought to clean the entire tiled room. In COVID times, this is NOT reassuring at all. The baseboard was loose and had completely fallen off. Additionally, part of the curtain was hanging off its tracks and the front desk never followed up with my question on how to control it. It was an automatic open/close function but you had to fully open or close all the way. No way of leaving it partially opened. The wall panel which I think was supposed to control it did nothing. This was also an ADA accessible room, so there isn't a closet. Rather, the hangers and rack and extra bedding is in the bathroom, which smelled musty and stale. (not good ventilation)
MISGUIDED INFO PRIOR TO BOOKING I booked this stay about a month before. At the time, there were two options available that we wanted, "two room king suite" or "family room". I called and asked them what the difference was and told them that I preferred a door separating the rooms. I was then advised that "anything that says Two Room will have a door separating the room" as the "family room will just be sectioned off and no door." So there, I booked the two room king. Wrong. I got a semi two room that is more like an alcove, no door separation. It was very misleading.
VALUE At about $300/night it is overpriced for a 2 star hotel. $10/night parking is also meh.
COMFORT The bed sucked. Like the other reviewer mentioned, it is way too soft without support. If you like to bounce off the bed when the other person gets off like a seesaw, this is the right bed for you. If you want to go to the chiropractor after your stay, this is the right place for you. Also, walls are thin. We heard the neighboring room's muffled conversation and them moving...
Read moreCorrect the first issue was about the $15 parking fee, I had stayed at your location a week before and the gentleman at the front desk did not mention anything about a fee the first time. You want to start your reply by saying that the truth was not said. I’ve reviewed your reply and comments on Yelp and Google and you always answer with the same wording. I will say the truth, your staff did not want to provide their names both girls where rude, yes when I said I was not going to stay there I was first taking to my husband that was sitting in the lobby, the girl on the phone was the one who heard me say this to my husband and went on and mentioned it to the other girly that was sitting next to her. Seriously, elementary service!!! That’s when the lady who had already took my ID and CC said “ I was going to waive the parking fee but because you said that you will have to pay it this time” SERIOUSLY!! childish!! Then she said “ do you want to stay here or not” I answered “ it’s up to you “ and she said “ you can leave” WHERE IS FREEDOM OF SPEECH!! Your the “general manager” where is the PHRASE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGT!!! I went to you neighbor location APPLE FARM INN PAID $20 parking fee but the service was the best service ever!! The ladies explained in details what the $20 dollar fee was for. I am blessed to say money is not the issue, your service was horrible and yes like I said from the beginning I WILL NEVER SATY HERE AGAIN, as the “general manager” train your staff to be MORE PROFESSIONAL. CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT!! Get !! By the way it’s...
Read moreThe rooms are nice and clean but there was an incident that occurred that was taken lightly by the hotel. On our last day Sunday,8/13/23 someone was banging on our door at 8:35am. I thought it was housekeeping bcoz they were able to open my door. I got up thinking it was housekeeping but it wasn't. It was another guest that had access to my room. Luckily we have a habit of using the door stopper attached to the wall so she was not able to get in all the way. When she saw me she closed the door, I ran after her and said she was sorry and kept walking away. I called the front desk right after it happened and she was insisting that it might have been housekeeping and I told her that I'm so sure it wasn't coz I was face to face with her and it was a guest that they must've given a wrong key to. I asked her to check their camera but they don't have one (that was surprising). It was also confirmed by housekeeping that they did not knock on my door or try to get in that morning and why would they that early especially I have a late check out of 11:30. I asked them to review the key reader and no follow up. Anyway, I felt that this incident was a big deal and was taken very lightly by the hotel staff. I have not received any follow ups. I have to give credit to Anuar who checked me in on 8/11/23. He was very friendly and efficient. Breakfast staff also very nice...
