We had plans to try the trolly tour in Santa Fe however when going to purchase tickets they do not have a way to purchase advanced tickets so when we got there 45 minutes before the next tour at 10am and 10:15am we were told they were already sold, and we could do the next one but that meant we would have to change plans already made. We never got to ride the trolly tour because of some unfortunate circumstances and while the person helping us did try to make it happen it was just bad luck. So my review can only be based on my interaction with the helper and the fact they only take cash and have no advanced reservations. If you want to do this activity, then I recommend planning on showing up as early as you can to get a seat on one of the 3 times, they have it. When I go back, I will try again but I was disappointed with the process. The Trolly holds about depending on size 4 people per row and there are about 5 rows and it is covered. Read moreVery uncomfortable, bad setup. The website indicates two locations for pickup, Loretto chapel at 10, one of the hotels at 10:30. We went to the chapel at 9:40 and were told they were only doing the tour from the hotel. The guide there only accepted cash but this was not mentioned on the website. They do not allow you to pre-puechase tickets online.
The tour "trolley" itself was incredibly uncomfortable. The space between the seats is so narrow that most adults sitting straight forward will have their knees crammed to the back of the seat in front of them. They cram as many people into the seats as possible, so there is no room to stretch or adjust when you get tired of your knees being squished.
The tour was reasonably informative and somewhat interesting, but given the discomfort and the difficulty around getting started/purchasing tickets, I'd have preferred a walking tour or even just wandering around...
Read moreThis tour was very informative and took us to many places in the city that we could then explore on our own. The only downside was our driver, although very knowledgeable, was cynical beyond belief. He continuously complained about people moving here and driving up the prices. He referenced Mrs. Dallas and Mr. Beverly Hills buying million dollar homes. He was critical of the downtown buildings that made modifications like adding a porch or different shutters. It got to be too much and ruined the tour for me.
What’s so interesting and ironic about the whole thing is, he makes a living off tourism and people moving here.
So, I recommend the tour but hopefully you get someone with a little more excitement and less cynicism.
It’s $25 for adults and $15 for kids. I think this tour should be $15 and $10.
We also didn’t get to stop for photos but I...
