El-Rocko Lounge — Local services in Savannah

I will never go back to this establishment after the owner and staff allowed a drunk patron to shout sexually derogatory statements at their bartenders, all the while spilling my drink! I have never been to an establishment where the staff was so slow to stop a drunk customer from spewing their hateful comments. While their drinks are tasty, I will no longer give them my business. Instead of apologizing to me for my spilt drink, I was told to "not to cause a scene." Went here for the start of a pub crawl tour. It was pouring the rain and the “bar manager/bouncer?” was demanding ids while we were just standing there waiting for the event to begin. (When the door was wide open?) We were waiting on 1 ID that was accidentally left in the car with the person who dropped us off at the door… that was coming RIGHT BACK. He got aggressive and made me wait outside in the rain until I had an ID. I had a picture of my ID but that didn’t matter. The guy at the door was nice but the bar manager or whoever was very rude and unfriendly .....

I've visited El Rocko a few times and my feelings about it are sort of mixed. I'm not a big fan of the general vibe in the venue. It's sort of a big open space with the bar on one side and a stage that is slightly raised off the ground on the other side. Hard to explain why but the inside just isn't super comfortable. Sound quality for shows is usually okay but leans toward too loud most of the time. A big plus though is that they tend to get some pretty great bands to play here.
