"Savannah's Incredibly Delicious and Super Affordable Street BBQ!"

After a recommendation by a local food guide; our group of 5 opted to have dinner at the Savannah Smokehouse BBQ & Brew. Walking up, we see a long line but moving quickly; this is a good sign; the food must be great & worth the wait. Well, not quite the case. We quickly get through the line, move to our table and WAIT. After about 20 minutes, one plate is delivered to the table (BBQ sandwich with a side of mac & cheese). A couple of us try the mac & cheese; and the hubs dresses his sandwich. 5 minutes later, the cashier/wait returns to inform us that they have run out of cornbread for the cornbread bowls, if we want to wait, it would be another 8 minutes. We agree. Another 20 minutes have now gone by, people are coming and going; we flag the cashier/wait to come to the table. We still don't have meals, and the one meal at the table is now cold. It is clear that the the girls at the front are aware that we are waiting for a long time; as there are motions to our table several times throughout the wait and meal. We refill our drinks; and mention again to the girls; we are still waiting. They will check again. Once they return to the table. The BBQ meal and the partially eaten mac & cheese is given to the wait; and asked to be microwaved and returned when the rest of the meal is available. Another 20 minutes drifts by, the restaurant is now emptying and the food begins to arrive. The Brunswick stew cups are too salty as a result of reducing to a thick sludge. The cornbread bowls are NOT bowls but cornmeal flatbread with dried meat and little mac & cheese (4 noodles are counted). The steak sandwich has little meat and with a heavily fat broth for dipping. The corn on the cob, which is fried, is sitting in a pool of fat within in it container. The cashier/wait return to the table stating that the mac & cheese on the BBQ sandwich tray was given to another customer (keep in mind, we all tried it earlier) and they are now out of mac & cheese; they can replace it with something else; he opts for the green beans. A few minutes later the BBQ sandwich is returned with green beans. The green beans are good. I have now asked for the manager. One of the girls, noticed earlier at the front comes to our table. We explain we have been there over an hour to have our food delivered, the condition of the food & how the management of the meal has been handled. But we are most DISGUSTED that they took our mac & cheese that several of us tried; and gave it to ANOTHER CUSTOMER. The manager apologies over and over again; said she agrees that should not have happened and that she will be contacting the owner of the restaurant. She refunded our meal and apologized again. Now, I am all for righting a wrong. But would NEVER eat or recommend Savannah Smokehouse again. Just the idea that someone else is eating the food I was eating makes me nauseous. How do I know I wasn't eating someone else's food? Especially in light of Coronavirus. Just GROSS!

As a local, I'm always wanting to try new places that open up downtown. I walked over on 07/15/19 and ordered a 1/4 rack of ribs and and a brisket sandwich to bring back home. Firstly, the brisket sandwich on the brioche bun was IMO amazing. Plenty of brisket on the bun, great taste, and not much fat at all. Secondly, the 1/4 rack of ribs were perfect! MEATY (not fatty) ribs I'm talking about! These things were coated with a generous dusting of their dry rub and with just a bit of their peach BBQ sauce...it left me wanting more. I thought for certain I had found my replacement for Randy's BBQ ribs! So I did just that and went back 24 hours later to get me a full rack and some collards to try as well. Here is where the 2-star review comes into play. I'm not sure what happened to the unicorn ribs I enjoyed the day before, but what I brought home the very next day was not the same. These were thin, with only a light dusting of their rub on one side, and truthfully were dried out, grainy, and chewy as if they had been sitting under a heat lamp or reheated/kept warm in some other way. I picked through the whole rack and salvaged what I could, but regretfully ended up throwing the rest away. I included pictures of the dried out meat from the second days experience. I only wished I had taken a few of the initial 1/4 rack for a visual comparison. On a positive note, the cornbread was very good as was the collard greens. The greens were nice and "leafy" with actual texture and not mush like some places.

Wow, just wow. This was something I wasn’t expecting. First, as you walk in the owner greats you and says hi, says, “the menus are in the wall, please sit anywhere, and order when you’re ready”. We ordered, fried tomatoes, dumpster fire fries, kids chicken tenders with fries and Brisket sandwich with fries. Being from Texas I was looking forward to the brisket sandwich because it’s rare to find a smoked brisket sandwich that’s worth ordering in the area besides what I make for my family. I was given self serve cups for drinks which was nice. The food was brought to our table and we warned that the trays were hot. The chicken tenders were extremely moist with a breading that seemed as if they were hand breaded in house, which was nice. The accompanied fries seasoned just enough to add flavor but not so much that it overpowered the fries it self, which was a nice touch. Dumpster fire fries and fried tomatoes were so dang good, it’s hard to count them out for the best in town, and that’s saying something considering the surrounding counties restaurants who’s know for their fare. And the here’s the brisket sandwich. I’m from Texas and I’m used to low and slow smoked hickory enriched meat, which is a staple amongst every Texas BBQ joint I’ve been in. This is wasn’t it and to be honest, it was a pleasant surprise to not see what I’m used to. The slices of beef had that nice touch of fat and meat which meant it came from the middle of packered, which is where the point and flat meet. The various if sauces that they offer was surprising but I chose the Spicy Jamaican bbq sauce. The cut of mat was so tender and so flavorful it was so delicious it surprised me! I’m used to over powering flavor of either wood or seasoning on the meat but neither was present here, which was nice. All was there was flavor of the brisket! My family and I will be back and this is my favorite BBQ spot! Keep it up Savannah BBQ! The selection of...

Hello~! I called multiple times now after my TERRIBLE experience tonight, the manager ended up calling me back after MULTIPLE phone calls which is extremely unacceptable and only ran my patience lower and lower. This was only my second time coming back, and I can definitely say- I WILL NOT BE BACK.

I had placed an order through their APP, Savannah Smokehouse, which is REAL- whether the ordering is through chow now or not, when I walked into the building to pick up my order, they said they had no orders. The payment was charged back to the card used, making me re-order the food in store. I then had to wait multiple minutes for the cook to come out and tell me they were out of the Honey Smoked Wings- which we had two orders of, leaving me to find something new, at this point it was reaching close to seven o'clock, we had placed the order at 5:30. I ended up choosing the 3-meat plate, which in there I picked chicken fingers, pulled pork, and pulled chicken. ALL of it was cold besides the chicken tenders.

Then, when arriving home after almost an hour of being in the store, I realized that they had forgot my side order of onion rings, then realizing the REST of my party also had cold food in their 3-meat plates. I cannot believe the service I was put through tonight. This is BEYOND wrong. I held such high expectations for this place, which have now been dropped- I will never return back here, this was a terrible experience and I do NOT advise others to try it.

The guy upfront, only gave me a FREE DRINK, wow. We paid 93 dollars for this meal, only to be let down in the end,...
