Great place to stay. Very clean with almost untouched facilities. A very well-equipped kitchen: stove with oven, microwave, toaster, drip coffee maker with a supply of paper filters, dishwasher, several pots and pans, cutting board, a large set of cutlery and plates, refrigerator with ice maker, ground coffee, tea set, salt, pepper, kitchen towels - paper and cloth, dishwasher tablets, dish soap, sponges, foil, etc. In addition, a TV with Roku (a streaming video player), also an HDMI cable to connect the TV to a laptop. Two ceiling fans, air conditioning. Washer and dryer, along with a substantial supply of laundry detergent. In the bathroom, basic toiletry kits (soap, body lotion) plus large packs of shower gel, shampoo, and hair conditioner on shelves by the bathtub. Three towels per person, plus a pair more in the bathroom cabinet for use, if needed. Numerous spotlights throughout the apartment, allowing for different lighting compositions as needed. Very neat common area - the hallway and entrance to the building. Great location in the city. Very close to the famous Leopold's ice cream parlor and the historic district with beautiful, stylish houses surrounded by greenery. Minuses? 1) In the apartment: you mustn't open the windows. The refrigerator is quite loud and, in my case, was very close to the bed. But if this is a problem, there is a set of new earplugs on the nightstand for each guest. 2) Outside the apartment: Parking problems - the paid parking zone is practically in all directions (be aware of the different hours of parking prohibition on certain streets). Nevertheless, the pros clearly outweigh the cons. For me, it was the best apartment I have ever stayed in (maybe I was lucky with a particular studio, co-guests did not make noise, and the weather was so great). I enjoyed the apartment and the city. Need I add that the proximity to the beach and ocean...
Read moreThis property is a really great bang for your buck if you are looking to travel on a budget. The converted apartment gives you a great amount of space to relax in with the hotel amenities like a hair dryer, shampoo/conditioner, and body wash in the bathroom. The couch in the living room was super comfortable and the bed was comfortable, but firm. This place would be perfect for a long term stay as well because there is a full washer/dryer in the unit and a large kitchen that is stocked with necessities for you to use. Sonder is very mindful that the location might contribute to some outside noise at night due to the local nightlife and many bars/restaurants below, so they provided us with two sets of earplugs on the night stand and two sound machines to use at night, which my mom and I really enjoyed as a comfort aspect even though we didn't need them for necessity (aka the drown-out sound purpose). We stayed during the week, so we didn't really hear any noise at all, but this might come in more handy for weekend visits. The bed is also in an out-cove of the apartment, so it is basically separate from the living room, which also worked great for my early-rising mom to hang out in while I slept in. Sonder is also really accommodating for storing luggage while you are waiting for check in/check out, so that was an added bonus! Location's fantastic, everything is w/in 15 minute walk and Savannah is extremely walkable, so we had no problem getting around without a car. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and I will definitely be looking into their...
Read moreWe loved our stay at the Sonder. Very centrally located to all of what Historic Savannah has to offer. Fantastic shops and great restaurants all within walking distance. Parking garage is 2 blocks away so if you have a lot to carry bring a wagon cart, it makes it much easier. The hotel gives you a discount through Iparkit app for extended parking. All apartments are on 4th floor with elevator access. It has everything you need for short or long stays and the bonus is a washer and dryer. (No noisy neighbors upstairs) Great rates, safe neighborhood, and you can chat with hotel staff which responds to your needs immediately. We had a small issue and within 10 minutes maintenance was at the door to fix the problem. It was very clean, the bed extremely comfortable and they supply coffee. CVS is right across the street if you forgot anything which by way use to be the old Jail. We learned that on a Ghost tour we took which is also 1 block away. I would recommend doing early check-in if your thinking about it because if you choose 4pm you can't go back and edit it to an earlier time. Be aware earlier check-in times come with a fee but it's worth it if you arrive early to Savannah. We would definitely stay at Sonder again when...
