We stayed one night on our way to NC and were not sure what to expect. Wanted a place with plenty of space and option to do laundry since we were travelling with a small child (didn't end up needing to use it). For the cost of two hotel rooms in other nearby hotels, we thought this would make sense. Had some concerns based on other reviews, but our experience was extremely positive. The low room rate and high cleaning fee makes staying here even more reasonable when you stay a few nights. We received an email in the early morning the day we were supposed to check in with all the info you need to get to your room. There was a little snafu with our reservation, but the customer service is outstanding and very responsive in a most timely manner.

Parking can be tricky, but we got lucky because it was the middle of the week and had no trouble parking on the street when needed (remember to check the times for when you need to pay to park). Parking garages are relatively close, but if you have a lot of stuff you're going to want to try to park on the street to get everything up there and then go park in the garage.

The entrance is hard to find (they explain well in the email, we were just anxious and ignorant) and when you enter you wonder what you may get into - trust me, don't judge this book by the cover just yet! The place was impeccably clean and well stocked with anything you could need - they really did think of everything to provide as much comfort as possible during the stay. Floors are hard wood and gorgeous. The room(s) were beautiful and decorated in a modern, simple way. They look and feel great. There is so much space and it is easy to relax. Having the appleTV was also another plus as they have their own account for most apps so you don't have to use your own info and remember to log out. The beds were very comfortable, plenty of pillows and blankets, and I just can't say enough positive things about this place. A full kitchen is so great when you have leftovers from all the amazing restaurants in Savannah! I did not have to sacrifice leftovers because I had a full size fridge so I could sneak in and eat it in the middle of the night. The noise from the street was noticeable, but we were there in the middle of the week so it ended rather early (10-ish). The room away from the street did not have any noise issues. If it was the weekend, I think anyone sleeping in a room by the street may get bothered if they need to get to sleep early and are light sleepers, otherwise just the level of white noise you'd expect being in any downtown (unless someone is singing very loudly, which one lady did one night but she had a great voice and it was a welcome intrusion).

Photos are from the morning after we woke up, so we already made a little mess :) Pics go from entrance and then room by room. We were in unit 301.

Absolutely intend to stay here again. Thank you to the staff and everyone with the Grant for a great stay and...

We arrived on September 26th, 2023. What can I say....the location, the amenities, the very spacious newly renovated apartment...they all mean nothing when you are SLEEPING WITH MICE.

We were so excited when we first arrived! We unpacked, made ourselves at home, bought a bunch of food to stock the refrigerator, and then went out for the night. When we got back we saw mouse poop on our bed that wasn't there before. Our daughter found some in her room, too, but she didn't know what it was at first. Well, now we know! We cleaned it up and decided to stay for that first night, because packing up and figuring out another place to stay after midnight sounded like way too much after such a long travel day. When we inspected the bed I found some poop under the sheets too, so basically one of their cleaners made the bed over the poop! I reported it to Black Swan but they couldn't do anything because it was after hours and no one is actually there to help. We closed up all our things and tried to secure our belongings. It took hours to get my daughter to sleep. It took hours to fall asleep myself! When we woke up we found new poop in our bed and on the nightstand!

We finally got some help in the morning. They offered to send someone over to change the sheets. WOW!!! Like a new sheet would repel the mice. They also offered a different room but as most people know MICE don't just hang out in one room. They are likely crawling on the counters and all over their building leaving feces everywhere. The room has holes all over, too, so the mice are free to roam between the walls and into the rooms.

I told them we were leaving and would like a refund. After going back and forth for hours and hours (which is not he ideal way to spend a vacation), they offered to refund the cleaning deposit only and they did that, but they charged us for the three day stay and wouldn't budge. It's shocking how they took no responsibility!!

As we left my daughter looked up in the elevator and saw a bunch of mouse pee and poop on the plexiglass above our heads, my husband looked under the bed and found a lot of poop....so they had to know! Which is complete negligence. The worst part though, even worse than sleeping with MICE, was the horrible way in which they handled everything. If they would have refunded our money with a huge apology I probably wouldn't be writing this review. But now it's a fight. The health department knows and so does our credit card company. Hopefully others will stay away until they get pest control out there...or just stay away because of the horrible service!

P.S. The maps say it is $88 a night, it's...

Definitely felt like we hit the jackpot when we found this location. Right on the "Hollywood Strip" of Savannah, everything was within walking distance. My first concern was that there was no parking nearby, but come to find there is an above ground parking structure on State street which is a 2 minute walk up the street, so perfect to park over the weekend that we stayed there. Check-in was easy, Pinpad with code to get in the main door. Free Wifi Available. Elevator at the end of the hall to get up to our floor. Upon entering the loft you could see that they spent time thinking of little touches to make you feel welcome. Ample amount of Bedding and Towels for our stay. Kitchen was stocked with dishes even a corkscrew for my mother who insisted on picking up wine when she was walking around. I really had no complaints, we knew and understood that in an old building like this, that it wouldn't be completely sound proofed (the sound machines helped my mother sleep) I quite enjoyed the noise from the cars driving down the street. The large windows also gave us a perfect view of a pretty intense storm that rolled through on the Sunday Night. Overall we really enjoyed our trip. Communication with the host was good. and I would recommend anyone travelling to Savannah to consider staying at the Grant, just simply due to the location and proximity to everything (walking distance) Before completing this review, I only had a couple suggestions:

  1. The Grant's entrance lobby leaves much to be desired - although there is a poster with a cute statement upon entry, it would be really nice to see that entire wall painted a bold colour, or even have a local muralist do something interesting. Just to make it more welcoming.
  2. The loft itself was quite damp, I understand with it being an old building and being so humid outside, but I believe that the loft would benefit with at least a Dehumidifier on each floor.
  3. They thought of most of the final touches, but one thing that would have helped us (was some sort of magnified mirror to assist us when applying makeup). Whether it was installed in the bathroom (like other higher end hotels) or even a little vanity area directly outside of the washroom on the...
