This company took terrible advantage of my family. While my husband was deployed over seas, our house was struck by lightning and caught fire. This put us out of our home for almost a full year. We went from a hotel to a mobile home and then we were so excited to find an actual home for the first time in a long time. There was a massive shortage of rentals available so we found a short term rental through âSid Was Here.â The home wasnât in very good shape but it seemed better than the situations we had been in during the recent months. They had just acquired the rental property recently and there was much work to be done to fix it. This included two uninhabitable, small properties with blown out windows, peeling paint etc in the backyard. There was a used needle in the treehouse when we arrived as well as broken glass at the steps of the treehouse and scattered nearby. Scary. During our stay, we experienced dangerous electrical problems and windows that had been fused shut. They called handymen of their choice to âfixâ these issues but they were never truly solved. I am in my third trimester of pregnancy so health and safety preventions are heightened. This was an expensive property to rent & there are no excuses for these problems. At the end of our few month stay, they tried to charge us upwards of $500 to fix damages that we had nothing to do with. We even sent time stamped video and photo proof from a walk through we did at move in to the company. In the end, they adjusted some of the refund, but still charged us for a portion. The woman who signed off (the owner & landlord) on these alleged damages, Julie was nearly impossible to contact and didnât seem to have a conscious about how our family was being treated. I can only assume that she is trying to take advantage of young families & use their money to fix up her properties. We were left feeling robbed and disheartened. I encourage you to save your familyâs financial well-being and safety by staying away from this company.
Update in response to the companyâs reply
If you read above, I said my husband was deployed when our house was struck by lightning. Which is why we were in need for a lease, by which time he had returned from said 10 month deployment. I feel like the word âdesperateâ isnât very kind, however, just because someone may be desperate for a place to live doesnât mean itâs morally correct to take advantage of them. We did in fact have the grass cut, I know that because we paid for it. Your response speaks volumes & I am sharing this because I wish we would have had a warning and could have saved ourselves from this negative experience. I would absolutely agree that you were kind and helpful in the beginning, thatâs why we felt so confused and shocked by the switch being flipped. I hope you can find it in your heart to see things from a more honest perspective verses putting families in situations where they feel like they need to protect...
Read moreThey sold my storage unit that they had recently acquired. They bought the facility in October from the original owner, I had no idea that had even happened until I reached out to the original owner in February and she told me she had sold it and provided me with their number. I called and spoke to a female that told me they dont take payments over the phone and she was to MAIL me an invoice, never received that so I reached out again today and was told they sold my unit and belongings in March, just 2-3 weeks after I requested an invoice. I called back to inquire if there was anything I could do to possibly have them reach out to the buyer to inquire if I could buy my belongings back, the girl, Sdaeff (thats how she spelled it) told me they could not accommodate anymore of my questions, so ok, I asked for a manager to inquire....she told me the manager was in a meeting and hung up on me. Is this even legal without proper notification? I just want the opportunity to get, at least some of my children's things, pictures, and other family things back.... There was not proper notification or any discussions regarding the auction of my belongings. They said they emailed me, I have NO emails from them, I had that unit for 10 years with no problems or issues, they take it over and within 5 months my stuff was gone. So beware beware....if anyone has any advice, I'd...
Read moreI ABSOLUTELY loved the house I stayed in for about 6ish weeks. It was a great 3bed/2bath. It was was incredibly convenient to work (maybe 2 minutes to the highly), shopping (groceries, Target, etc.), nice restaurants and fast food, and very easy to get to downtown.
I felt very safe in the house as well as the general area itself. The backyard was nice and had a great little patio set as well as a great front porch to sit and spend time in the evenings when the weather was nice.
The house was exceptionally clean and obviously well taken care of. Everything was provided regarding linens, cookware, and everything in between. It was all in the small details that were present, the types of extension cords (multiple outlets AND USB and USB-C ports), extra linens, cleaning supplies, etc.
If are looking for a long term stay AirBnB, you WANT to stay here!! Any questions or messages sent were responded to in 10ish minutes or less, they also checked in on me during my stay. The attention to details and the small things, really made it feel like a home. This is a...
