DON’T book Bdays here: I feel spoiled and petty posting a first world issue when children are starving and dying, but they ruined my daughter’s very expensive bday serving the wrong cake after I checked multiple times in wks leading up to party and visited in person night before just to be sure they had it in stock&on the party order.
Child had her heart set on a certain cake they advertise to match party theme. She never liked cake or sweets in general, but said excitedly for months she would try this cake. We did a party here the year before&got the Chuck E cake for our guests while I served our child an alternative item.
Last party 2022 they brought cake out in front of 30 of my daughter’s guests while she anticipated a Paw Patrol cake. It was Chuck E again. Confusion and disappointment spread on her face. I gave a quick dose of tough love to halt the tears and whispered in her ear I’m sorry they screwed up, but you can choose right now to be happy or sad. She perked up and let it go.
To be FAIR, I think child’s dad was shown cake at party prior to serving&FAILED to catch it was wrong cake. I was unaware until it was brought out candles lit during HB song. But even if he had caught the error, it was TOO LATE to change the cake because they said they had no Paw Patrol in stock when I addressed it with them even though the night before we visited&they confirmed Paw Patrol was ready to be served.
We spent MUCH of our time there trying to discuss the matter and see what kind of compensation they could offer. Were completely dismissed at first as though the cake was a trivial matter. They finally deleted the cost of the cake with no apology.
At 1st party here I did most of the host’s job even though I still tipped her well running around the entire party serving guests while host was missing. I wanted to make sure everyone had drinks while forgoing a much needed drink of water myself because host was nowhere to be seen.
ALSO, I WAY OVERPAID at 1st Chuck E party because it wasn’t explained to me until last minute that we don’t have to give exact party count& can add on children after party starts. I booked way more than needed because that’s what I was told to do, then a different employee night before told me it’s the opposite but it was too late.
And even though it wasn’t an official party I did a small celebration here for child in 2020. Due to Covid concerns I brought her at 11 on weekday with a few cousins. Wasn’t explained to me that we could have paid WAY less and had Chuck E come out as she longed for rather than the expensive pay as you go point cards or that timed cards available.
And issues with parties such as host not helping move items to another table during opening gifts at end of party. Guests were excited to show their gifts and I always want to keep track to do proper thank you’s but time runs out.
I will give them credit at 2021 party for helping relocate everything to nearby public table at end of our allotted time. They should have done that in 2022 when they ruined the cake since we were preoccupied trying to sort that out and lost time.
Also would be much appreciated if hosts at kid’s venues were truly available during parties& could maybe jot down gifts so child doesn’t fail to thank anyone because some gifts&cards not labeled and it’s very rushed.
It’s been hit and miss here outside of birthdays. Some employees are outstanding at least when they not short staffed, but others awful. They do tend to be kind& patient at the ticket counter.
Unfortunately they often have no soap in bathroom which is icky to say the least. Security stamp is only used off and on, but my kid always stays in my sight& knows to not go with anyone so not an issue for us but could be for others.
Chuck E himself, depending on who’s wearing the costume has been mean over the years refusing to wave or a quick greeting to a child who adored and believed in him following him all over before he disappeared.
We still hang out once in awhile, but I told my child another birthday here is out of...
Read moreI took my three kids here today 06/10/2022 @ 12:30, apparently a small group of boys and girls club had just arrived, with few others in the gaming area, when I begin to place my order I was told there was a hour wait time to order pizza, that I couldn't even place an order yet (I noticed the family in front of me was allowed to place their order, which was two cheese pizzas and a pepperoni, therefore I was confused why I couldn't, and just be put on first come first serve basis/wait list). I then proceeded to ask if she could please announce or let me know when they will start taking orders again, and she said she would. Therefore I sat a timer for hour on my phone, and we played arcade games in mean time. Hour pass and I went up to place my pizza order, by this time it's 2:30 (never once did they announce or let me know they were taking food orders again) once more I was told another large group had just came in and I wouldn't be able to place another order for two hours?! I reminded her that I had been waiting just to place a order for ONE pepperoni pizza since 12:30, and here it is 2:35, I had been waiting a HOUR to do just that!!! She begin to get a attitude and said I'm sorry but we're behind on orders (I see the family that came in just ahead of me when I arrived at 12:30, they were just getting their pizza, yet I wasn't allowed to place a order! I feel this was intentionally! Being highly unsatisfied with the customer service I received, I decided to leave. I waited near check out area so that they could let us out the door, but after ten minutes no one would acknowledge me and the girl at register just kept looking at me (and get this, while she was taking a food order :/), therefore my three kids and I walked out! How is that up to Safety standards/no child allowed to leave until their numbers are checked to match the adult taking them?! I most likely will not be back, I feel that I was ignored on purpose and treated this way due to race discrimination, due to the obvious fact that certain customers were allowed to place orders but I was told no, they weren't taking orders for food! I will be putting in a review with the Better Business Bureau. Hopefully management gets this issue resolved, and they treat all customers equally! Do better Chuck E. Cheese of...
Read moreHalf the games didn't work. Food was cold when it got to the pass for us to pick up. We took pictures, and left them with our drinks on the table for a couple minutes while the kids went to play, and they got thrown out. When I went to talk to someone at the counter about it, she pointed at the kid cleaning the tables. I went to talk to him, and he just said he didn't remember. So we had to take new pictures. The thing that really gets me is that there was another table that was left unattended for a good half hour, but was left alone for the owners. My nine year old remarked that it would've been better to just hang out in the hotel. This place is terrible. The one in Augusta is much better.
Update: we spoke with the manager, and she blew us off, like there was nothing she either could or would do to rectify the problem. Halfway through the conversation, she turned her attention to someone else who'd walked up to the counter, ignoring us at that point, despite there being two other counter clerks standing right there. We spoke with someone else, completely outside of the setting, and she was amazed that nothing has changed in the ensuing seven years since she last visited. I'm beginning to think that corporate either never knew (which, after seven years, I find unlikely), or they just don't care either. Given all the previous reviews, I know this isn't an isolated incident. What corporate should do, and I doubt they will, is shut the place down, update and fix the games, and start over with an...
