Olive and another Chef came to our house to prepare a meal for my 40th Birthday. Communicating with Olive via e-mail was easy and we quickly agreed on a menu. Her expectations of us were clear (providing silverware, plates, bowls, etc) and communication in advance of the party was timely. Unfortunately, the day of the scheduled dinner was forecast to be a winter storm (Seattle's Snopocalypse '19!), and Olive preemptively suggested we come up with another date, with no payment penalty.

We agreed on a 1 month delay. On the day of the dinner, Olive an another chef arrived 3 hours early to begin preparing the meal. It was fun to see them get set up and the aroma filled the house with wonderful smells!

As guests began to arrive, we worked with Olive to set up the table and talked thru how the dinner would work. It was a blast to be mingling with guests while 2 chefs worked away in the kitchen!

When dinner service began, Olive explained each dish and how it was prepared, and served us at the table, even taking away empty plates as the evening went on.

We hired Chef Olive to prepare an off-season Thanksgiving dinner for me and my chosen family. After reaching out to several chefs in the local area, Chef Olive was the most responsive and engaged in our email conversations. She took on board all of the information I shared, and created a very engaging menu for my gathering. Not only did she prepare a wonderful Thanksgiving meal in the middle of summer, she also brought some Asian flair to some of the more traditional American-style dishes. My guests and I were particular fans of the katsu turkey, the sweet potatoes with hoisin gochujang garlic sauce, and the coconut mochi butter cake. Chef worked with me on what I should have on hand, and arrived fully prepared to jump in and start cooking. She also left my kitchen spotless, just as she found it. It was a lovely experience for my guests to not have to worry about preparing or warming food, and instead focus on each other and still enjoy a scrumptious meal together as a family. Olive was the perfect combination of professional, personable, and fun! Our family of six (husband, myself, plus four kids ages 11, 9, 8, and 5) are absolutely obsessed with dim sum food and thought it would be unique to find someone who could teach our family. My husband found Olive’s website and booked her for a Saturday afternoon to come to our home on Bainbridge Island. She arrived promptly, with all of the materials necessary (as communicated in emails leading up to our day) and began teaching us several recipes over the course of a few hours. I can’t stress how wonderful and patient she was with even our small kids, and made them feel incredibly successful and joyful to be learning new ways of making food.
