Olive and another Chef came to our house to prepare a meal for my 40th Birthday. Communicating with Olive via e-mail was easy and we quickly agreed on a menu. Her expectations of us were clear (providing silverware, plates, bowls, etc) and communication in advance of the party was timely. Unfortunately, the day of the scheduled dinner was forecast to be a winter storm (Seattle's Snopocalypse '19!), and Olive preemptively suggested we come up with another date, with no payment penalty.
We agreed on a 1 month delay. On the day of the dinner, Olive an another chef arrived 3 hours early to begin preparing the meal. It was fun to see them get set up and the aroma filled the house with wonderful smells!
As guests began to arrive, we worked with Olive to set up the table and talked thru how the dinner would work. It was a blast to be mingling with guests while 2 chefs worked away in the kitchen!
When dinner service began, Olive explained each dish and how it was prepared, and served us at the table, even taking away empty plates as the evening went on.

After reaching out to several chefs in the local area, Chef Olive was the most responsive and engaged in our email conversations. She took on board all of the information I shared, and created a very engaging menu for my gathering. Not only did she prepare a wonderful Thanksgiving meal in the middle of summer, she also brought some Asian flair to some of the more traditional American-style dishes. My guests and I were particular fans of the katsu turkey, the sweet potatoes with hoisin gochujang garlic sauce, and the coconut mochi butter cake. Chef worked with me on what I should have on hand, and arrived fully prepared to jump in and start cooking. She also left my kitchen spotless, just as she found it.
