As a nearly lifelong Seattle resident, I am ashamed to say it took me until this year to visit the laser dome! I attended four shows this year (Pink Floyd, the Beatles, Tame Impala, and one of the KEXP DJ sets with Jewel’s Astral Plane show). A visit to the laser dome with friends is the best $15 you can spend in an increasingly expensive city. They change and update the calendar regularly, and cater to different genres with artists popular throughout the decades, so there is a show for everyone. I like to bring my picnic blanket and an extra sweatshirt so I can comfortably lay on the floor with a makeshift pillow, laying on the floor makes it feel like you’re at a slumber party and enhances the laser experience. The laser artists always welcome you in, set the scene, and encourage the audience to cheer, clap, and applaud what they like. It’s a much more interactive experience than I realized and the laser artists are very talented and fun. This is a perfect activity for a rainy or cold night in Seattle! I hope Pac Sci brings back laser Fleetwood Mac because I was very sad to miss that. The DJ experience with Jewel from KEXP was truly INCREDIBLE and I think it’s so cool they partnered with them to do that! Would love to see them continuing to build community partnerships like this to highlight local artists, music, etc. If it ever becomes possible, renting the laser dome for a party and having your own playlist running would be SO COOL. Big fan of the ole laser dome, a true treasure of the Seattle scene and brings you right back to maybe being in high school and listening to Pink Floyd in your parents...
Read moreEmployee prejudice against disabled.
On the show page, I couldn't find any information about disability seating. So I was worried when I arrived & after asking three different employees and they said they didn't know. So by the time I got to the "snack table," I honestly didn't know if I was going to have to ask for a refund because I didn't know if all the seating would be taken or if a fully abled person sitting in a disabled she would get up for me.
At the snack table, I had my cane in my right hand and my purse and the candy I was going buy in my left hand. For a moment, I didn't realize the cash register was blocking what was in my left hand so she couldn't see what I was buying. So I said "I'll sorry; wasn't thinking there for a moment, just worried about getting a disability seat" and held up the box of candy. The snack table employee went off on a bitchy tirade about how I was trying to steal a box of thin mints from a nonprofit and how she was so glad that I was being honest about not stealing them from a non-profit. She said this very loudly - several other customers behind me heard her.
I highly doubt I'll be going to another...
Read moreAlways a fantastic time, as a young adult and kid it was a fun date for laser shows. I now have 3 young kids and am re living all the enjoyment watching them enjoy the laser dome shows as much as I have and do! I have probably seen 30+ laser shows :) I only gave 4 out of 5 stars because my recent experience on my kids school field trip the show was great a employee was not very friendly, I was let out to use the restroom and not a word was said that I could not come back in. The doors were locked, above mentioned employee would not let me back in with my schools kids or group I was in charge of. I was shocked and what if that was one of the elementary students?? I had never had that happen in all the 30+ times I've gone to the laser shows day or night. Also the show is excellent but the seating, floor carpet you lay on could really use a upgrade, cleaning and fresh cleaning. Highly recommend regardless but was surprised and a little disappointed with this recent experience do to employee interaction (specifically 2 employees but only 1 at the...
