SEE BELOW but these to add more blinds! 9-07-23 Scott and Dean are the Go To Team!
Park city blinds has provided rollers and blackouts for three properties beginning in 2013. I have shopped around and their pricing is in line with budget companies but you do pay a little bit more to have more options available and it is completely worth it. The salesperson, James, was patient and helps you figure out what will work best for your space and does not waste your time. We were fortunate to have the same installer, Scott, foe each of our properties and he has become part of the family. After years of not seeing him it’s great to catch up on what our children are doing. Extremely professional company! Long-term employees! That says a lot about a company!
Let’s talk functionality. Each control has five different settings so depending on how many rooms you have you have a lot of options. For example if you have a great room and a kitchen and six windows one control can handle all of your windows. I would recommend ordering the hub so you can also download the program to work from your telephone. You can set schedules for the blinds to come up and down, which is very helpful if you are not on the property often.
The double blind option is great so you can have the roller screens, which lets light in and still gives you privacy. The blackout screens behind screen can be lowered for the evenings.
The roller screens gives the house a better look from the outside. The company also offers blackout screens that are colored on the back and not just white. I hate the white on the back of black out screens because it looks like a sheet is hanging in the house window.
Manual v. Remote Go remote in your most used rooms and in your master bedroom. In the children’s room it is not necessary to have a remote as the kids can just pull the chains. If the motors on the blinds become less expensive overtime I would install remote through the whole house but with supply issues motors are still a bit pricey.
Balance boxes over the blinds\screens: The options are limited as to colors; However, I would recommend going with the anodize silver colored box. It blends into about any color of wall and if your walls are white you hardly see it. I think people make the mistake of going with a white box and if you do an accent wall where your windows are the box sticks out like a sore thumb. Go with the 4 inch box on all windows as it adds a bit of elegance especially if you have Windows over 7 feet in height.
I hope this review helps you make your decision. On this last property I got three bids and the sales person with Park city was able to help me make some modifications to get my price where I needed it. I didn’t go with them because they were the cheapest, I went with them because of dependability and I knew I could count on the product, the deadlines being reasonably met and the installation being...
Read moreMy experience started wonderfully with the sales person. The installation which started this summer is still not correct. Over the course of 6 visits, the blinds are still not correct...as in they have still been unable to provide useable blinds over some windows (there are only 8 large windows or doors). Trim is missing, the valances that are supposed to match do not. I even have 2 windows that they admitted they installed backwards. I have been fortunate enough to find out that when things come from the warehouse in SLC to PC, it is the job of no one to check them before the installer loads them on the truck. The scheduler, installer and the sales person (the only one with personal contact with the customer) do not talk to each other. I have also had the same experience with the rude and all-knowing gate keeper receptionist who wanted to tell me to whom I should talk. I rolled over and said OK because she was so adamant and she was incorrect. I clean up after them each time. They have left things in our garage that I did not buy and I have asked them to remove.....well, you get the picture. If this is your expectation, you are at the...
Read moreI moved into a lovely view home with lots of windows but the previous owners hadn’t installed many window coverings. James was very skilled at helping me choose the right styles and colors for every room, and spent extra time working with me to assure the choices would accommodate all of my needs in each room. A few weeks later, Damon did an excellent job installing all of the shades, curtains and blinds, programming the remotes, and instructing me on use and care of my new window treatments. I love the colors and styles we chose and already appreciate the privacy, light blocking, and insulation of the shades and curtains in the master bedroom. I’m also certain that the house will stay cooler on warm days with my new light filtering shades. Thank you,...
