Let’s be clear: this place is a dive. It’s and the tables are a BIT sticky. But—as many dives go—it’s also a gem. If you’re not expecting Park City chic, you’ll enjoy this joint. Bonus: the prices are reasonable. I ate two rolls, two orders of nigiri, a salad, and a BOTTLE of Saki (that’s a ton of food!) for less than 100 bucks. Order that all at a fancy place and you’re easily looking at a buck fifty. The service was good. And the ambiance was nice (but—again—not fancy).

Stopped into this unassuming sushi restaurant last night. Don't let the modest exterior appearance keep you away....Enjoyed good service and delicious food. We had a variety of rolls, expertly prepared and presented. Prices are reasonable and atmosphere is intimate. Adult beverages are available...beer and wine. Lots of parking out front.

Small, casual spot in a shopping center. The menu is predominantly made up of tempura rolls, teriyaki bowls and the like. Not a ton of classic sushi. All of the fried items were pretty tasty, and nigiri wasn’t bad either. Pricing is pretty fair and the service was friendly and attentive.

Their to-go service is putting big delays on the dining-in service. We showed up extra early before opening for dinner, we were 2nd in line. It took 30 mins to get our 6-piece nigiri appetizer and took a total of 1 hr & 20 mins to get our main course.

From the time we sat down to when we received our food, we watched the staff handout about 20 to-go trays to various people picking up. This is fine if they had the resources to do this. Instead, you're sitting there waiting and watching everyone else wait for their food for a LONG time. To make things worse, the server also took the order of the party that came in 2 groups behind us when we've been ready to order. The server didn't offer to refill our water until he already handed us the receipt to sign. They don't wear name tags. There's no organization.

I brought up the slow service to the server twice. They didn't even offer any discount for the long delay for someone who was 2nd in line after opening. Terrible.

I highly DO NOT recommend this...

Our group of 10 people came the firs to the restaurant, waited roughly 2 hours to be served for some of our friends, meanwhile all other guests were served in 15 minutes or even faster, moreover we noticed that restaurant has a priority to work on “to go” orders…., which absolutely unacceptable. Such way of business doesn’t make any common sense if you don’t respect people that chooses your place among other places to have a meal during vacation, when you value your time and mood. Also the manager was rude and disrespectful when we tried to explain their unfair attitude to us, instead of apologize or at least talking to us politely, he showed nothing but irritation and...

My husband and I love this place. I almost refused to write a comment about Shoyou because we wanna keep this place as a great locals option. However, we think they deserve a lot of business. If you see any bad comments about Shoyu in this page it's because people do not appreciate a simple and family friendly place. Shoyu doesn't have the glamour that people who come to Park City look for. However, it doesn't mean that it isn't a great place. I have many favorite plates like the 'hamachi kama', 'shrimp tempura roll', 'shrimp tempura appetizer', and the amazing potstickers (gyoza) - the best in Park City! Ignore the haters. I do recommend you...
